We are missing a good half back. The reason why Melbourne and St George are so good is because they dominate possession on the back of Cronk and Soward's kicking game. Our kicking game atm is fkn pathetic. It's no different to watching the NYC.

Thurston is a great player but don't expect instant results if we get him. The Cowboys are hardly the most consistent team.

I think the players to go would be Cayless, Inu, Mateo, KK and possibly Tahu.

I would hold onto Grothe. And sign another backrower.

Any NRL team chasing Thurston would be imbalanced IMO.

There's a reason the Cowboys haven't won every premiership since he got there... you have one player taking up THAT much of the salary cap, and you've got nothing left to pay the people around him.

If we had JT last year we would have won the comp for sure and if he was here now we would not only have one win so far, he is class with a captial C.
With JT in the side you only have to defend well as he makes all the attacking oppotunities him and hayne in the same team would be lethal.

we are already struggling with depth in the forwards, loosing 3 backs would make us a pretty ordinary team especially if JT was a long term injury

we'd never even make the 8 imo

he plays well for Australia and Qld but his club form can be hot and cold

I would take Thurston in a heartbeat. He is King. We need to be honest with ourselves. Mateo if anything is a hot and cold player. I for one would swap him tomorrow with a player like O'Donnell or a fit Shackelton. The dynamics of our team has changed with the emergence of Hayne. Mateo is now surplus to our needs. It's sad but its true and I am one of Mateo's biggest fans.

Besides if the reports are true that the Warriors are giving him $400K he would be mad to stay with us for $230K. I wouldn't.

Maybe then the NRL competition would become more than merely a series of exhibition matches and bring passion back into supporting YOUR team..

At my stables, they hire grooms to look after the horses. Some are really really good but the pay is lousy. They then look for jobs in the racing industry and earn 3 times more
