x2Mortimer would be JT's apprentice, would be a great halfback once JT leaves and a definite long term solution.

if we went after Thurston i don't see why one of grothe or inu could stay
Mateo - Warriors
KK - Dogs
Cayless -Real Estate
Grothe - England
Inu - Re-sign (pay cut) i think he would be the one they try hard to keep if we sign thurston - thats a big if though
Inu looks like he's enjoying playing outside Tahu it's unlucky he is back to the bench this week (on paper) i honestly think burt won't be ready
1. Hayne
2. Burt
3. Reddy
4. Tahu
5. Inu
6. Mortimer
7. Thurston
"We sign Thurston, we are immediately a genuine title threat." 100%
We are missing a good half back. The reason why Melbourne and St George are so good is because they dominate possession on the back of Cronk and Soward's kicking game. Our kicking game atm is fkn pathetic. It's no different to watching the NYC.
but Robson got us to grand final.................sorry, just repeating what I've been hearing for months
alot of money tied up in just 2 players if we sign JT
Can someone please tell our managment they're dreamin.
If they didn't try and compete for JT you'd have a winge. Now they are throwing their hat in the ring you're bagging them out. FFS
and Melbourne have the bulk of their cap tied up with 3 players, and look at where they're at..if we replace a Mateo, INU and Caylo with a Lowrie, Dane Nielson and Aided Tolman that I would be very very happy!!
he's not worth loosing those 3 players imo
we are already struggling with depth in the forwards, loosing 3 backs would make us a pretty ordinary team especially if JT was a long term injury
we'd never even make the 8 imo
he plays well for Australia and Qld but his club form can be hot and cold
Any NRL team chasing Thurston would be imbalanced IMO.
There's a reason the Cowboys haven't won every premiership since he got there... you have one player taking up THAT much of the salary cap, and you've got nothing left to pay the people around him.
I prefer Jeff Robson...;-)

Buying players...does that really mean anything? Cut the Salary cap back to $2m and get Clubs to produce their own...
Maybe then the NRL competition would become more than merely a series of exhibition matches and bring passion back into supporting YOUR team..
