I haven't read through the thread to see where I backed his points up but all the points that mattered to me occured in the first post. I probably backed up whatever points because I could see where he was coming from.

I consider them examples of joke booking but if you want to consider wrestlers who made their fame elsewhere before coming to the WWE then DDP circa 2001 and Chavo Guerrero Jr. circa 2009 are certainly comparable.

He's been booked below himself but I wouldn't go as far to say he's been booked to look like a joke. I think this is a case where we'll simply have to agree to disagree.

Yes, on ECW. He had a great debut at Hammerstein against Justin Credible, then went up against veterans for the next few months (CW Anderson, Stevie Richards, etc) who could carry a tackling bag to a good match. He wasn't even looked at for the title until John Morrison got done for "Wellness Policy" violations. But he's come good now, which is the important part.
Yeah and what happened to Dragon on NXT against nobody's?

Would of been interesting if McGuinness didn't fail that medical exam. Speaking of which, anyone know what his injury was that saw him released from TNA and still has him sidelined from ring action.
I think he would have been put over. Being from the UK would help with the international market and he's over 6 foot and a star worker.

I don't know if he's come out and addressed the problem. Nigel always avoid the question in the articles I've seen. I can only suspect it is a neck injury or his taken too many shots to the head.

I didn't think DBD should have won MITB because he was booked so poorly, the majority of the marks wouldn't have been able to buy into it, and as a result any reign he achieves would have been very ho hum with the bulk of the fans (face it, a large portion of WWE fans have probably never heard of Bryan Danielson). If you have no momentum going into a world title reign nobody will buy it, and it won't do much for you. Just look at Swagger's reign last year, he went back to jobbing within 3 months. If the WWE want people to buy into DBD as a wrestlemania main eventer they need to start building him up now, have him beat a few of these big dogs (Christian, Orton, Barrett, Sheamus, Henry).

Smackdown was on LIVE (in case you missed it) and it was a decent edition.

John Cena started the show, cut a promo on Alberto (who's got visa issues), smacked out Ricardo who delivered a message and then Cena squashed Barrett to start the show.

Daniel Bryan's losing streak continued going down to Fake Cara in a standard match. After the match, Cara extended his hand out to Bryan before kicking him. Perhaps planting the seeds for a Real Cara vs. Fake Cara feud.

Diva's of Doom won the Diva tag match. Askana did the ring introductions.

HHH and Punk both cut really good promos on one another. As the segment was ending, Nash came out and attacked both men.

The Great Kahli was disqualified in his match against Sheamus when Mahal blind-sided the Celtic Warrior. However, Sheamus ended the segment standing tall getting the better of the Punjabi duo.

Randy Orton hit a Super RKO to defeat Christian in a really good Cage match. Before the Viper could celebrate, the World's Strongest Man Mark Henry attacked Orton and stood strong to end the show.

God I hope so, because I was a HUGE fan of the Kane vs Fake Kane angle years ago

Run of the mill SmackDown:

- Mark Henry promo. Zack Ryder announces that both him and Randy Orton will be in matches. Henry lays out Ryder.
- Mark Henry def. Ezekiel Jackson
- Aksana still tries to get into Teddy Long's pants
- Sin Cara def. Tyson Kidd. Cara cut a promo afterward saying he was no longer towing the WWE line. Daniel Bryan came out and challenged him to a rematch next week, and is then attacked by Cara and put into a submission hold.
- Kelly Kelly def. Natalya
- Kofi Kingston + Evan Bourne def. Jinder Mahal + Great Khali. Khali turned on Mahal and left him to be pinned by the tag champs. HHH came out afterward and gave Mahal a Pedigree (possibly dark for the crowd)
- Randy Orton def. Cody Rhodes. Mark Henry attacked Orton afterward.

Here are the spoilers from tonight's Smackdown taping.

Superstars:

Ezekiel Jackson beat Tyson Kidd.

Brodus Clay won a squash.

The Usos beat Johnny Curtis and Trent Baretta.

Smackdown:

Edge opened the show talking about how great it was to be home. Later in the night, Mark Henry and Randy Orton will be in The Cutting Edge. Cody Rhodes came out and said Edge was kissing up to the hometown crowd. Edge fired back and Cody talked about beating Randy Orton at Raw. Cody tried to give Edge a paper bag. Edge didn't want it so Cody left. Cody tried to give them to fans. Ted DiBiase was in the crowd and laid him out. Cody ran away.

Sin Cara took on Daniel Bryan and lost by DQ when he went nuts on Bryan. This lead to the original Sin Cara coming out and them glaring at each other. It's Cara vs. Cara on Smackdown.

Backstage Zack Ryder told Teddy Long that he has a waiver saying Orton and Henry can't touch each other. Aksana came in to massage Teddy Long but Trish Stratus broke it up. Teddy and Trish talked.

Beth Phoenix beat AJ. After the match she said Kelly Kelly will lose on Sunday.

They did a bit where Trish and Edge were backstage and Christian came in. Christian said he was sorry about being a jerk and they hugged. Edge then told him to stop being a baby and grow a set.

Justin Gabriel and Sheamus beat Wade Barrett and Christian.

Great Khali was wrestling Heath Slater when Jinder Mahal attacked him. It made the match a DW.

R-Truth beat Evan Bourne.

Time for The Cutting Edge. Edge put over Toronto and then brought out Orton and Henry. They went back and forth and didn't touch each other. Once the segment ended and the no-contact clause was done, they fought. Henry was left standing over Orton, with The World Heavyweight Championship.

So I guess it's Cody vs Ted at NOC.

And yay, another clone storyline.

I haven't seen smackdown for a while (I'm at work on Fridays and on Sundays I watch the footy, cbf watching it online), so can someone tell me who the hell Jinder Mahal is?

From Wiki:

Jinder Mahal made his televised WWE debut on the April 29, 2011 airing of Smackdown, greeting fellow Indian superstar The Great Khali and his brother, Ranjin Singh backstage. During the segment, Mahal spoke in Punjabi that he was really happy and excited that Khali and Ranjin were there. On their part, both of them were happy too. The next week, Mahal, unimpressed by how Khali and Singh have been partaking in childish activities instead of winning matches, confronted Singh about his mismanagement of Khali. Mahal interrupted a Khali Kiss Cam segment the following week, slapping Khali twice to no response from the giant. On May 20, Mahal interrupted The Great Khali's match against Jey Uso. Khali left the ring to confront Mahal. Mahal slapped Khali again and gave him another lecture. Khali reentered the ring at the count of seven and finished off Jey Uso, taking out Jimmy Uso after the match much to Mahal's pleasure. On the May 27 edition of SmackDown, Ranjin accompanied Khali to the ring, only to be defeated by Kane. After the match, Khali turned on his brother Ranjin before leaving with Jinder, thus forming an alliance between the two and turning Khali heel in the process. On the September 5th edition of Raw, he suffered his first loss, when he and The Great Khali lost to WWE Tag Team Champions Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston in a tag team match. In a rematch on Smackdown, they lost again to Kingston and Bourne, after Khali pushed Mahal (because Mahal slapped Khali) followed by a Trouble in Paradise by Kingston.[7]

I'm just glad to see Mistico back. In fact, if Mistico is back I hope they keep Hunico around because I actually thought he was more consistent than Mistico, at least originally and would be cool to keep around at least as a mid-card or a tag guy.

Average Smackdown too.

I'm just paraphrasing off Alvarez.

Honestly, my knowledge of the international scene is severely limited and I can't see that changing.
