Backs of firstgrade standard;
Seage, Cooper, Matt Gidley, Thaiday, Quinn, Brown

Backs who may play firstgrade next season;
Tighe, Salkeld, Hinton, Young, McManus

Halves of firstgrade standard;
Johns, Mullen, Kurt Gidley

Halves who may play firstgrade next season;
Campbell, Dureau

Backrowers of firstgrade standard;
Simpson, Newton, Abraham, Reynoldson

Backrowers who may play firstgrade next season;
Hancock, Brown, Tanner, Maddison

Props of firstgrade standard;
Perry, Woolnough

Props who may play firstgrade next season;
Tolar, Snowden, White, Worth, Royal

Firstgrade hookers;
Buderus

Hookers who may play firstgrade;
Berry, Spiteri

Players who will probably go - Mueller, Quigley, Kennedy, Smith, Witt and possibly Perry.

I'm sure I've forgotton someone, or maybe a few.

From that list I would say we need an experienced prop and a quality backline player mostly. We also look thin at hooker, in the halves.
We look good in the second row.

I guess Lowrie will be on the "probably go" list as well...

Experienced Prop - Davico?
Quality Backline Player - Carney? (We really should have a go after Lolesi though...)

Hughes, Lowrie, Price, Jaques, Bartlett all probably gone.
Tremain-Cannon and McLouglin are borderline too.

Juniors that should come up include Hlad, Grant, Natusch, Tuafua, Hartman, Abel and possibly Gordon. Perrin is also a chance.

There are some gun juniors coming through, backs, halves and forwards too.

We will have a very good side in about 3 years if these young guns keep developing like they are.

I wouldn't call Brown a back of 1st grade standard, he's 1st grade injury prone, thats about it.
We still definately need another winger to effectively replace Tahu, not sure if Carney is the man.

Yep, good team on paper. The only stand out to be axed from that team is Josh Perry who has done very little to suggest he is a first choice first grader. I also suspect that Riley Brown, while fit, will be in ahead of Milton Thaiday (in terms of holding a bench spot). Thaiday has been good in patches, and should work on a couple of deficiencies between now and then. He is probably one player who will benefit from the rest of this season, and a full off-season.
The inclusion of Brown limits the need for a quality backrower like Simpson to put shoved into the centres. If Abraham is fit, he would probably slip into the centres quite easily..... but how often is he fit?

Yeah I had White in my team originally but then replaced him with Perry.

Spiteri would be great, but I can't see them dropping Riley Brown. He's gifted and commited.

Os - I think Thaiday probably has the fullback job in front of Seage at the moment, however he really needs to work on one-on-one defence and taking the high ball. If he gets that right - he'll be a superstar.

I think Thaiday could easily become safe under the high ball. He is very talented.

And in one-on-one defence he is usually very good. His tackling technique is superb. He just got wrong-footed on occassions on Saturday. As did Seage against the Roosters at Aussie Stadium.

Thaiday has shown exactly why he should be starting fullback with his attack. This year he has been the only back you would classify as having "spark".

He has had a couple of brilliant runs in the last few weeks, reaping the rewards with two tries.

He seems to work really well with Johns and Mullen.

I was assuming Perry wont be here next season. I don't think he'll be happy with a pay cut, and there are a few clubs chasing him, that will be prepared to pay more than us. Riley Brown may well cement a starting spot in first grade rather than a bench utility I think. Spits on the other hand is made for the job coming off the bench. I can see Brown becoming a regular starter, just where I'm not sure.

I agree that itis unlikely Perry will be around next season.

I would love to have Spiteri and Brown on the bench, but the question is, where?

Unless you went with something like this:

14. Woolnough
15. Snowden
16. Brown
17. Spiteri

We wouldn't have as much forward muscle off the bench, but then again, the whole forward pack I named(with the exception of Davico) are 80 minute players.
