So will Gallop get this fixed before ANZAC day?

The 7k that turned up to the Eels/Storm GF rematch in shocking conditions at Parramatta stadium a few years back had a better atmosphere then the 42k of the A league crowd yesterday

Yep. Makes Dugan seem somewhat bright.

"Hi. My name is Ryan Hammond. This is a photo of me. And this is a photo of some vandalism I was in the vicinity of. And heres a spiteful message to go with the photos of the vandalism, which is under a picture of me, with my name, which is Ryan Hammond."

It's a worry aye Ronnie. Dipshits.

p.s. Loudy hit the nail on the head.

Seats are for sitting in.

If you sokkah fruits wanna put your left foot in, put your left foot out, do the hokey pokey, turn your back on the game in the 80th minute (stupid merkins). Whatever the f**k ever.

Do it.

But do it jumping up and down on the concrete.

Not the seats.

It's not rocket science ya f**ken f**kheads.

Amusing football chants from England

Plymouth fans (to everyone) - you dirty Northern bastards

Charlton fans to Reading fans - "what's it like to live in Wales?"

West Ham fans to player who missed a sitter "You couldn't score in a brothel"

I just wished we had the same level of humour amongst the supporters over here.

I was part of a group of fans who broke some seating at Penrith in 2005 when the Knights won their first game for the year.

No malice in it, just got wrapped up in the emotion.

As for the turning away from the game and chanting in the 80th minute:
There is a reason for it, and one I applaud.

So you're a Nazi sympathiser too.

So rugby league fans don't have flags and banners, don't cheer, don't chant? Every rugby league game I've been to must have been an hallucination then!

The atmosphere at the Tonga vs Samoa test shat all over the A-League GF, the fans were actually cheering and getting into what was happening onfield, not just dancing and being a pack of geniuss for the sake of being geniuss, seeing as the game itself is so boring.

What's it say about soccer when the best thing about it is apparently the atmosphere?
Yeah sometimes league crowds are quiet, but they go off whenever something big happens. A try, field goal, match winning play, big hit, bad ref decision... Soccer has a few goals a game if that. The rest of the game the crowd has to keep themselves entertained, apparently by turning their backs on the game and jumping up and down.
Yeah I've been to some games with a flat atmosphere. But I can safely say my experiences at Sydney Origin 2011, Eels v Tigers 09, Hindy's Farewell, a few games at Suncorp, England v Australia 08 and several more had much greater atmosphere than that turning backs jumping shit. And moments like Mini's try in Origin 2011, Hindy's last goal, Hayne's chip kick etc beat it tenfold.
Why you would want to go to a game to experience an atmosphere of jumping and throwing flares I have no idea.

I have no idea why they would do this - the vast majority of Telegraph readers would be fans of Rugby League so insulting a sport they love seems to be bloody idiotic as far as I'm concerned. Hell their own journos are league fans and yet they do it.

I was watching the Wigan v St Helens game on Eurosports the other day which was the Easter game (I record Super League games and watch them on a sporadic basis) and there were loads of empty seats there yet that game was a complete sell out too. The commentator actually made a point of talking about them. He said that a certain number of seats had to be left empty for health and safety reasons. These were seats in the corners and on the sides of the ground. He said they could have sold another 15,000 tickets over and above what was sold, yet they had to leave what looked like about 1,000 empty seats in a 25,000 seater stadium for "health and safety" reasons.

I'm not sure if the rules are the same in this country or if it was even a factor. Could have just been some directionally challenged people who bought tickets and went to ANZ stadium instead :p

I'm guessing you mean 1,500 tickets not 15,000.

f**k off, if it wasn't for the refs mic I would have thought i'd gone deaf listening to the Cvc game! I figuredd everyone must have been stunned into silence by the price of the tickets.
Now the 4500 at Craven park on Saturday for the challege cup, that was an atmosphere. two sets of passionate fans given 80 minutes of verbal encouragement to their teams, no damage, no fighting, no flares, just good old fashioned RL passion and pride in your team. I've been to NRL games with 30,000 that don't come close to the noise the 4500 at Craven park made. Never understood it as I find most Australians loud and not shy about giving a opinion. When they get to a game of Rl they seem to become introverts!
If you want noise at a RL game buy sports ears.

Whatever way you paint it - what happened at the SFS was hooliganism. If I stand up I'm likely to block the view of those behind me. I expect to cop some sort of request/remark/abuse from those I have inconvenieced. When I stand it's usually in reaction to a break or some turning point in the game that usually leads to a try. Then I resume my seat.

If I had a bunch of pelicans stand on the seats in front of me, face the grandstand, jump up an down and chant, I'd expect security to intervene immediately. I'd also wonder why the f*ck a bunch of fervent buddhists would pay a small fortune to jump up and down and worship a grandstand.

Pert Red is always on about stadiums and crowds. PR, if you think that crowds would improve if we got more people to jump up and down, chant and wreck seats, you are a f*cking lunatic!

In fact, you are condoning behavior that would be perfectly suited to a grass hill in a suburban ground.

All you nonces complaining about the "atmosphere" at the A-League Grand Final are either delusional, jealous or just plain dumb.

You say you dont attend the matches for their atmosphere, but to watch the game.

If that is truly the case. Stay home and watch it on TV. You will get commentary, half time reports, images from the sheds, injury reports, replays, referee audio, stats and you wont have to worry about the guy next to you yelling out support for his team.

Fact is, you attend the game because of the atmosphere.

The viewing of the event is far superior on the TV. Dont try to convince yourselves that you dont attend games for their atmosphere. The atmosphere and the bragging of "seeing it live" are the only 2 reasons to go to the game.

Give it up.

No I go to watch my team actually. I couldn't care if there were 80,000 in attendance jumping on chairs or just me, I go to games when I can to support my team and my game with my family or my mates.
