Someone give Gallop a copy of the coverage of the AFL Grand Final...

Why can AFL stick with tradition of having it on a Saturday afternoon but Rugby League can't stick with tradition of having it on a Sunday afternoon. The Sunday night thing does my head in

Because Sunday arvo sucks, should be on later then it is currently.

with all due respect, they sold the stadium out again, the added coverage and media attention... lets get real here, the AFL made out like f**king bandits on that thing... and perhaps that is how its done

I think I read it was worth $10 million to them. No wonder they're not in a hurry to get rid of the replay

This again?

What the hell is wrong with 9 News being on for 15 minutes an hour before the game? There's nothing happening in the stadium for that period of time apart from some skydivers (hardly great TV).

After Meat Loaf and the very basic, bland entertainment today at the AFL, I reckon the NRL isn't doing too badly.

Even the worst both performers could do tomorrow would not even go close to out-doing Meatloaf in the Fail department.

Not sure if serious???

If we are going to have the GF as a twilight game the least we can do is have players playing in the same conditions all year round.

Very good point.

As is yours Brutus. That astounds me. What do they do before the main game starts? A very large soggy sao?

At least Sydney viewers get the news.

Brisbane viewers get an episode of Motorway Patrol between the Toyota Cup and the NRL matches... and have every year since it moved back to the twilight slot, which is absolutely disgraceful for Grand Final Coverage.

my thoughts exactly, I took the opportunity to head to the mall, got parked up next to the door, haircut with no wait, no ques in the shops. Got to love shopping on AFL GF day in Perth!
first day of the show would've had something to do with that also

Speaking of 'how to do it' - who out of the AFL & ARL were the first to go for the 'big name' pre-match entertainment, and thus who then copied the other?

I just hope the NRL doesn't copy yesterdays snoose fest. That was the lamest boring pre-match entertainment I have ever seen.

NBN did that one year too.

Hell, Channel 9 could be showed copies of SBS' Champions League coverage, decent coverage, no ads during play and no gambling updates.

If Glenn Munsie is there at half-time he'll really piss me off.

I reckon they'll wheel him out for the odds during the NSW Cup and Toyota Cup GFs.
