That press conference put tears in my eyes. I'm not gonna act like I seen much of him, I only recognise the name, but this is devastating.

Best of luck to the Warriors. Hope they can pull themselves together & have a big season.

There comes a time when we all have to move on from this. It's a terrible travesty for all involved, to hs family, friends and the club and of course the fans but I firmly believe that a time will come when they have to let this go and let it be, granted it would be better if there was closure but at the moment even that isn't likely. We need distraction from this so it doesn't affect our lives 24/7.

Personally I've been lucky as to not get too caught up in this since it happened, it has been reported here and things but I've done what I can to avoid getting too caught up

I still can't quite believe this is happening. Our thoughts and prayers are going out to Sonny and his family, may the miracle we're all hoping for come true.

When's that time Skinny? It's been 3-4 days since the lad has gone missing. The body isn't even located yet.

And why is it relevent for them to have a designated moving on period...for a lot of the Warriors and specifically the younger boys moving on won't be a possibility for a long time.

This news has distracted my whole work week, and I barely even knew the guy. I feel like I've lost a close mate. Seeing Price and Wiki choke up in the news has made me do the same. On the day the news broke, I got the shakes and had to go for a walk to process things. I guess it just goes to show what we as a league community are like, and how much the Warriors as a club mean to me.

I've heard a lot of comments referring to his potential, but that means so little to me. What matters to me most is that a 20 year old kid has died while saving the life of his little brother. What matters is that a family has to bury their child, assuming the body is discovered. What matters is that one of the nicest, most down-to-earth, likeable, and contageous people you'd ever meet has been swept away.

I take refuge in the knowledge of his strong Christian faith, and I offer this simple prayer to the Fai family, to the Warriors club, to the Warriors faithful, and to league fans everywhere who have been affected by this:
Kia Kaha!
Kia Toa!
Kia Manawanui!
Ko Te Atua
Ko Tatau Piringa
Ko Tatau Kaha!

"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." - John 15:13

Please don't trivialise this. I'm still in shock less than a week after his disappearance, and you're suggesting everyone moves on. No body usually means no closure.

A bit more sympathy for those close to Sonny would be appreciated.

I think many teams should fear the Warriors even more now.
Though I do think if anything lack of closure could possibly be a distraction but if Sonny is returned then I think they'll band together and go a mighty long way.

With him not being found it would be so gut wrenching to continue training as normal. My heart goes out to the Warriors as well as his family/friends at this time.

Does anyone know whether they're continuing the search? Unfortunately in a lot of drownings they never recover the body, or when do it's just by chance. He really sounds like a decent fellow, and I also give my best wishes to his friends and family through this difficult time.

No mate, very unlikely now.

His family, friends and some very hard core Warriors fans go to the beach every day to look.

So sorry that his body has not been found...it would put a closure for his family.

I understand that when the Storm play the Warriors in theupcoming trial, it will be a tribute game for Sonny...Brian Waldron mentioned it on radio recently.
