HHoffman was used yrs ago and he failed ...why go back to him? Why the obsession with bloody mobility ? It has never worked

Kurt Gidley really? Talk about flogging a dead horse.

What does Kurt Gidley have that Sutton or J.Reynolds doesn't offer?

Daley said that Gidley can cover every position on the field... Prop and Second Row as well?
yeah daley said he can even play those positions

In all seriousness as a QLDER I would be more worried by the Titans halves in blues jerseys than Maloney & pearce. Kelly & Sezer are far more creative.

Gidley, fmd. Hoffman was a surprise...not too sure about it.

Not sold on the halves either. Ergh, Pearce.

Not sure how they could drop Tim Grant after his form in last years series, and his form this season. Should be in the team ahead of Gidley atleast, with Lewis being the utility.

big hit!

What? 1 player? Boyd hasnt even been ruled out yet

They also need to decide how to replace Petero and Hannant in their forward pack.

I can guarantee that they won't go with light-weight midgets like Daley chose to do.

It's as though Stuart picked this team again.

Remember the days we'd go into Origin with blokes like Harrigan, Carroll, Roberts, Roach, Lazo, etc. At least 3 of them would be in the same team and that was before the days of rotating the f**k out of middle to keep up the intensity.

Why Tamou & Fifita can't be joined by Grant at the very least shows this team was chosen by yet another nuffy.

Bozo remains the constant in all recent series losses.

I have two main issues with the team:

- Maloney over Carney. Once again another halves reshuffle, feels like we've been through this so many times before.

- Gallen at prop/Hoffman at second row. Hoffman is meh and putting Gallen at lock would have allowed Woods or Grant to be brought in, would ake the forward pack look more imposing IMO.

Apart from that the team is pretty good. Despite all the hand-wringing over Gidley if he plays like he has the last couple of weeks he's the least of NSW's worries.

A lot.

However, I'd rather carry two specialist props on the bench. Tim Grant will probably get a run in game 2 when the changes are made to reflect the bench that should have been chosen for game 1.

Was at the Roosters v Melb game last night and I lost count of the times our Origin halves finished sets off with predictable and ineffective high kicks to Slater. He'll be pissing himself laughing knowing what is coming for him.

Pearce and Maloney are going to need that pack of ours to get on top very early and maintain dominance for those two halves to create anything.

At least sanity prevailed and Merritt wasn't picked.

Can't wait to see Merritt and mundine in the papers tomorrow screaming hate crimes

Fairly good squad to be honest, I think carney was unlucky Grant, Woods and Mason all had front row claims but gallen was great last yr at prop and back row is our strength. Gidley I. Not a huge advantage of either but he is the only one in contention who can play hooker and the whole back line as well as having significant origin experience

Big concern is the lack of props. We are putting a lot of faith in Gallen to chalk up big minutes. If he gets injured early on (and he has that cloud above him) we may struggle. Grant should be in there for Hoffman I think (with Gal dropping to lock), to give us a little more grunt. Hoffman is much like Creagh to me, good player who can hit a hole but at origin level his style is completely ineffective.

I also agree with everyone about Gidley, although he played the full 80 I wonder if the head knock Farah copped in game 3 last year early on had a bearing on this selection. If we lost Farah to injury early on it would stuff us up as I don't see another hooker in the side. Lewis could play there, but how well?

He never plays as well for NSW as he does for the knights. That's the point.

He just isn't a rep quality player.
