I don't think Laurie will give anyone the arse for game 3 - it will be farewell city allround.

And this is the problem Gus was speaking about. Game 3 could either be about the future or the past. My bet is that it will be about a few players and not about moving forward. Will have to wait til game 1 next year to blood in the new breed, then we'll be 1 nil down and panicking again.
State of Origin for next year really starts in 3 weeks.

the only one i'd pick of the old stagers is Gallen, he is captain and deserves his fair well in front of his home crowd.
But Farah, Greg Bird, Jennings and even Tamou can all miss out for some young blood.
Ennis should have been hooker for Game 1 and 2 anyway but now I'd pick Peats for the future. Reynolds is injuried so i'd ethier mover Maloney to half and play Jack Bird at 6 or bring in Hodgkinson who was good last year in origin. Bring in some fresh blood in the forwards as well, Graham etc.
There is plenty of young players who could do the job but there seems to be a bit of old boys club at the blues.

Our halves don't have the chance to play with a champion like Lockyer when they came into the first origin like Thurston did, NSW haven't had a legend in the halves for like 10years. no one for the younger guys to look up to and learn off.

If Daley picks Gallen, Bird, Farah and Walker again he is kidding himself , it shows they aren't serious about winning and selection is about what club you pay for not form or any sort of common sense.

Daley will go back to Fox to sit beside his mate Warren Smith as lead analyst, where we'll get to hear such insightful comments as "I like a player who can catch and pass the ball" or "Unless [insert team trailing on scoreboard] start to mount a comeback they will go on to lose this game", among many many others....
His best ever was after half time with the scores level " team that scores the most points this half will go on to win the game"

I'm sure his hair dye has melted his pea brain.

Jennings didn't have the best game, but I would still pick him next game (and probably next year).
He's still the best centre NSW has.

So the only series we have won in 11 years was when they decided to play Hayne in his best position for the entire series?

Pretty much goes to show how shit our selectors are.

Bring in Tedesco, he is a gun! I like Moylan but out of the 2 I would have Tedesco ahead. Bird needs to be a centre for the next game.

Bring in Cartwright and Ryan James. Ferguson can go and replace him with some speed.

Reynolds will be out for game 3 so I assume we'll see the return of Pearce :(

Gallen can f**k off along with Farah!!

The NSW selectors need to be constantly reminded - Kurt Gidley and a decrepit, hobbling old Minichiello were picked at fullback over Hayne.
This should never be forgotten.

Bob Fulton played 0 origin games and has no idea what type of player is a origin player, his selections over the last 10-15 prove that.
It's about time he stepped aside.

On a lighter note, here was a classic quote from Rabs Warren:
"Gagai followed by Mansour"

I am sure when Bozo signs players for Manly, he says that this will guarantee you a SOO spot.

Walker, Buhrer, and the rest, and we get caught for cap issues :)

Was rumors back when coached Manly and was Australian coach that he offered player test jumpers if the signed or re-signed.
Good luck proving it.

I think Walker will be fine in the long run.

But Bird, Gallen, Farah and Jennings need to go. They have been the core of our failure over the last couple of years. Gould was right when he said the leadership in NSW (the f**kers just listed) is suffocating the team.

Jack Bird and Frizzell were great. Bring in the likes of Tedesco and James and we'll be a much better team.

Still, though, we need a halfback. That's what we missed more than anything last night.

100% agree

I thought gould's analysis was one of the smartest things I've heard recently

I liken it a lot to parra when we had Hayne inu Mateo etc but the leadership of the team was vested in cayless and Hindmarsh whose attitude was far more conservative.

It held back the team and it held back those players

I thought Farah had a great game though and I don't see much point replacing him with Ennis.

All the rest of the decent hookers are from qld nz or England

There were a couple of times where he stuffed around at dummy half trying to milk a penalty and as a result stalled the roll on NSW had, one was after a break was made in the first half. He needs to get that out of his game and just pass the pill especially when his team have momentum.

His inside ball to Jack Bird (pretty sure it was Bird) on the last which resulted in a turnover was dumb play by a supposed leader. Last tackle, 40 out from the opposition line and he turns it back inside to a bloke to run straight in to traffic... might be an OK play when you're 1 or 2 metres out from the oppositions line, at least it's a decent place to turn the ball over, but all that play did was gift QLD territory and invite QLD to attack on their next set.

the problem is the leaders in NSW are all in the forwards, everytime they lose a series they sack the halves. Instead of sticking with the ones that preformed the best and making them leaders/senior players they always have new guys trying to keep their spot so they are always under pressure.
Hodgkinson did nothing wrong last year and should of been picked, infact he won us game 1 last year.
They need a clean out of the selectors, a whole new group of players who have played origin, like Blocker Roach, Wayne Pearce, Sterlo etc.
Brings me to what has been wrong with Origin for a decade, and it's all Queensland's fault. Origin (and all rep jumpers) should be about form at the time of selection, not about incumbency. Yes incumbents & best players get some leniency for slight drop in form, but at the start of this year Cronk & Inglis were shit, and not just in terms of their ability, but just plain shit. Norman WAS playing better than Cronk, and Gagai should have been moved to centre and Feldt onto wing (although Gagai had a couple of shit games too)
