As much as being this bad sucks, does it suck harder than watching some of those teams like the 2001 and 2007 team bomb so hard in the games that mattered the most?

Yeah I'd rather watch my team win wooden spoons then watch the play in major semis and grand finals.

You gotta be kidding right? I loved when it got the weekend and it being us being the team that was putting 50 points on other sides. You'd go out to a game and come home singing and cheering most weeks. For 26 weeks a year we could open up the paper in Monday morning and see us sitting comfortable in the top 4, and sometimes even at the very top of the table. Geez those were proud days.

Sure, losing those big games sucked, but that didn't erase the fun I had throughout the regular season watching us win on a regular basis and the pride of seeing us win minor premierships or making grand finals.

Smith was a great coach and we f**ked him off because players didn't like him etc... That's when this rot began.
yep soon as the players take control and there is no true boss thats when the trouble starts. Sheens at tigers the player went around him the board and got rid of him, Moore and folkes at the Dogs same thing. That nuffy at the Warriors who got punted after a year. Has one of those teams bounced back the next year? no it took a couple of years. Tigers are still having problems now. Ours has been going on since 2005? this should have been sorted years ago. Problem is the roster is full of nuffies who wouldn't be playing first grade anywhere else and most of who were re-signed by the last coach who had the team run 14th and 16th, you would think he would have worked it after the first year that most of the squad was below standard.
The chairman should bring the coach to the squad and say " this is your new coach, play for him or piss off. He's the boss do as he says or piss off. Any problems speak the coach not the board members, he's the boss. don't like it? then you can piss off and play elsewhere."

if he doesn't make the 8 next year he should be out on his f**king ear.

So with half the teams failing to make the finals each year, how many of those coaches should get the arse?

All of the ones who aren't rookies?

There aren't enough coaches in rugby league to put up with that kind of churn.

I think he's saying any coach that doesn't make the 8 for two years in a row? Sounds fair enough to me, and there's plenty of coaches/potential coaches around to fill those gaps.

But then I'm not trying to be an argumentative professional whiney bitch on a forum.

I'll wait and see how we go next year to form a definitive judgement.
I don't think it's fair to judge him when he only has these losers to work with.
If he can find a way to f**k Sandow off then he'll be a genius in my eyes.

Yeah that must be why you're sticking your nose in and answering a question that wasn't directed at you.

I don't mind you answering questions that I've asked someone else, but don't pretend you're not a bitch.

RJ, i agree with plenty of your points, but im still behind ricky.

But your spot on with your deflection comments, Rickies post match ref sprays are pathetic, they dont fool me either, ive been into him every time his done it, and he has lost plenty of respect from me through trying to blame the refs, its been his deflection modus operandi for years.

Anybody that falls for it or thinks the refs give us a hard time are dreaming

He's doing things that should've been done at the club 3-4 years ago which has set us backwards this year.

There was a certain player I harped on about a lot last year, and my point was if this is the sort of player we were using as a mentor, guide for future players, along with keeping some of the worst players to play their respective positions at the club in a long time, then our future is bleak.

Hindmarsh contributed to the end, but guys like Ben Smith, Burt, and dud signing like Hicks, Walker, Whatuira, Webb, Roberts, Maitua... who are waaaaay past it were bought in/kept to develop the next generation. Now we have this shit awful problem. These guys all developed bad habits and took short cuts on the field. Many of them were our least disciplined players.

Above all else we hung onto them and glorified players who were no longer contributing for far too long. Many who these players kept out of first grade are elsewhere at the moment achieving a lot more.

So the cleanout has begun, and we see some of these players further showing their character. Despite using the media to tell us how much he loves the club and knows its a business has anyone here ever seen a less interested footballer than Reni Manure? Well, there you go guys. Our young players love him, Loko wore his name on his wrist when he sat out. Loko misses training and gets stood down for ill discipline, something Uncle Ren has been known to do from time to time.

It's all a giant mess thats going to take time to figure out. At least we have someone in there at the moment who's prepared to start the process at the expense of their own coaching stats.

I will say this - does parra at present look well coached? Does parra Atleast make up for the lack of talent and address the fundamentals? Does parra move up in a straight line? Etc etc

RJ it is hard to argue with a lot of your points. I just cannot understand how Parra always look so disorganised? They refuse to move up in defence, and therefore allow the opposition to make easy metres every set. We are always on the back foot. We do not have ONE set move that is executed to perfection. How many times are we caught out on the 5th in attack, and can't even get a kick away?

Something is dreadfully wrong. As bad as our players are, the coach always must accept some of the blame. When you see so many of our discards playing well at other clubs (because those teams are organised and do the little thing right) you have to wonder what the hell is going on.

Are you really that confident that these juniours will do the job for us?

To be honest with you, mate, yes - I am.

For example, I've rated Kelepi Tanginoa ever since I first saw him play. Masinamua and Ualesi will be just as good if not better IMO.

I know we have a tendency to overrate our juniors, but this time, we:

(1) have little option but to rely on our juniors; and

(2) I'm very confident the guys listed will turn out to be good.

Via Toutai is one guy much criticised, but he should be playing centre. He's a natural centre, and a good one, at that. I think he will be very good for us. He's still only 19 years old.

There is only one coach who could sort out the shit from the clay, is available and as a club we have never really recovered since he left.

Definitely. Brian Smith's departure was a bad thing for us IMO. He really knew what he was doing (even though he struggled to win Premierships).
