Apparently the promoter has posted on the SW11 forums that it's somehow been leaked but hasn't given any details...

Criminally under-rated band!

I can picture it now...

Me to mates: Hey we should totally check out The Sword or Protest the Hero before Maiden starts.
Mates: lol who the f**k are those bands, we're going to Sum41.
Me: *facepalm*

Just wish Maiden were playing a Brisbane 'Arena' show as well...
I'd imagine the Arena show will be a longer setlist than the SW one.
Might fly to Sydney, catch Maiden arena show then see them again at SW Brisbane.

I would recommend this, their own show will be way better IMO.

Would also suggest if you want good tickets for the Maiden shows to join their fan club so you can get in on the presale tomorrow, online membership is less than $20, well worth it.

Sum 41 will bring back some cool early teenage memories. I've tried to get into The Sword but just can't do it, same with Kylesa. I wish Avenged Sevenfold didn't suck now they would have been good to see.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Soundwave headliners usually only get one and a half hours for their set as well. Although they may make an exception for Maiden.

Also I think this truly will be the last chance to see Maiden down under. Would love to be wrong, but if I'm not I'll kick my self for not doing.
Only live once as they say.

Same here with Rise To Remain. They are like a younger Protest The Hero clone. I'd never even heard of them until SW.

Pennywise vs Alesana

Can't really blame them

Police have been reportedly called to restrain members of Pennywise after two band members allegedly attacked post-hardcore band Alesana following a show on the Warped Tour.

According to a statement that Alesana frontman Shawn Milke gave to Altpress: “Just to clear the air of any rumors, last night upon returning to our bus after a night out with friends, both our band and our tour manager were attacked blindly by by two very drunk members of Pennywise… The two guys entered our bus and, without any instigating on our part, began punching us and trashing our bus. We are eternally sorry that this event took place and had it not been for the Denver police showing up and restraining our assailants, the night could have been tragic. Luckily, no one in our camp was injured.”

Milke stressed that “Alesana is a non-violent band and always has been. We do not encourage or willingly participate in any violent activities.”

The incident occurred after the Warped Tour’s stop on in Denver, which was the final show for punk rock veterans Pennywise on the tour, so the two groups have been separated for now. Though Pennywise has since canceled a show in Wyoming due to “unforeseen circumstances”

However the fight does potentially raise some issues for Soundwave 2011 as both Pennywise and Alesana have been been announced on the lineup for next year’s festival.
