Will most likely spend my day like most years, sitting back in the main arena ducking out every now and then to catch bits and pieces of different sets until later. A little bummed Green Day and Avenged Sevenfold are clashing. Growing up listening to Green Day, I was a bit eager to watch them live but I can't turn down the opportunity to see Sevenfold. Even more annoyed it's only an hour.

If I've got clashes I usually check out setlist.fm after the first SW or two to see what the set looks like, makes it a lot easier to figure out if it's worth checking out the first half/back half of bands performances.

I didn't see any of that. I enjoyed their set. But I have been a fan of theirs for 10 years.

I think Slayer were the next band up on the main stage and Ill nino were on the annex, i was standing at the back of the crowd watching and saw at least 1/3 of the people in the area (apologies on my exaggeration by saying 'most people') leave and then the rest just got impatient for them to finish and for slayer to start. I don't mind ill nino but they are not exactly that heavy or IMO deserve to be on that annex over a local band that is going places and much more appropriate for that 4th stage/annex.

11:00-11:45 Porkers (2)
11:45-12:10 Authority Zero (3 Annex)
12:10-12:40 Nancy Vandal (5a)
12:40-1:20 Less Than Jake (5b)
2:00-2:30 The Living End (2)
2:30-3:10 AFI (3)
4:00-4:50 A Day To Remember (2)
4:50-5:30 Pennywise (3)
5:30-6:00 Finch (3 Annex)
6:00-6:40 Stiff Little Fingers (7b)

Not too bad really. Will have to miss Alkaline Trio as they clash directly with The Porkers. Will miss the first 5 minutes of Authority Zero and the last 10 minutes of A Day To Remember but it could have been worse.
should check out rockety from the crypt after stiff little fingers

There has been some pretty big changes in the timetable. Fortunately I still have no clashes just time changes. My day now goes like this.

12:10-12:50 : FFDP
1:05 – 1:45: Asking Alexandria
4:00-5:00: Trivium
5:45-6:45: KoRn
7:20-8:20 : DevilDriver
8:20-9:00 : Ill Nino

They are being replaced by Aussie bands. Will probably be locals but fingers crossed for a big name. Doubt we will see parkway drive as they are another band that don't like working with AJ.

Megadeth and Newsted are big losses for me.

Id love to see Be'lakor or Ne Obliviscaris take their place, but doubt it.

Just had lunch next to Gwar's David Brockie. Wasn't enough of a fan boy to say hi but we did the nod.

Try living in Melbourne. It'll be 40 degrees until 6pm then it'll start snowing. I don't know what the f**k to wear.

The Porkers: 8/10 (Great to see them again, played a fun set and had a decent turn out for 11am.

Authority Zero: 8/10 (Strong set, first time in oz.)

Nancy Vandal: 7/10 (Pretty good to see them play again, were pretty funny in between songs)

Less Than Jake: 10/10 (were awesome, best set of the day, had an absolute ball, made the day worth it)

Alkaline Trio: 5/10 (Wasn't there fault really, just the sound was shit and couldn't hear the singing)

AFI: 2/10 (f**king terrible. I love AFI, I would give their performance at 2010 SW 10/10, but this time they were shit. Went on late, Davey looked very dis-interested, just stood there and barely even sang, did the whole crowd sings for me tactic and then finished their set early.)

Placebo: 2/10 (not really a fair representation of them coz I don't really like them in the first place, just saw them waiting for ADTR and gave them a shit score coz they played over their time and that meant a missed a lot of ADTR coz I had to rush to Pennywise.)

A Day To Remember: 7/10 (Solid of what I saw, did the orb trick again where he walks into the crowd in an orb)

Pennywise: 8/10 (very generous score coz I like them. This was the 14th time I have seen them and I can truly say, if you've seen them once, you've seen them a million times. They play the same set every time. I can even tell what Jim is going to say in between songs. Anyways, I like the songs, so had a good time).

Went home after PW.
