I'd be ecstatic, some of my fav bands

Tool, Primus, Deftones, Slayer, Disturbed and the Melvins.

Seen a lot of those bands and would be very keen to see again.

I really hope he ditches the 2 day thing.

2 days is long gone. It is definitely 1 day. Already got my ticket sorted.

On that list i wouldnt want to miss, Tool, Disturbed, BFMV, BMTH, Deftones, Trivium, Alexis on fire, Northlane, Soulfly, In hearts Wake,

If that lineup is true... I'll be hoping for Slayer and Primus sideshows because nothing else interests me.

Love NOFX and the Rhomb, but i've seen one of them 4 times and the other...13 times. Saw Public Enemy a couple of years ago. Would like to see Refused.

If it isn't sold out when I get back from overseas, maybe. But unlikely.

Average for mine

Disturbed and Deftones and Frenzal would be good but not convinced at this stage.

I think the problem is there's only a few massive headliner metal bands, and they've basically all been there on this tour (except Tool). Big 4 have all played (even then beyond Metallica they're not gonna drag heaps through the gates), Iron Maiden, Slipknot multiple times, Faith No More twice. On the 'punk' side of things the real big names who would drag casual fans, blink 182, offspring, have all played also. So you get a lineup like this, with some really, really good punk bands (NOFX, El Hefe's probably the best guitarist on the bill, Refused who are a great band, the Rhomb etc) but they've all toured relatively frequently and don't have a massive draw beyond the punk scene, and ditto the metal bands they've got playing.

I suspect Soundwave has just hit the end of its cycle. Most festivals push it to last ten years.

AJ cocked up massively last year with his half arsed 2 day festival, bled money, and now can't afford to put on half the lineup he was putting up 3 years ago.

There's only 1 metal (true metal, without dragging this into a subgenre shitfight) band on that lineup and Soulfly are dog average.

Headliners aside the top SW lineups had 20+ bands for each kind of crowd/genre it was trying to cater for. Punk seems to have fared ok-ish this year but it's basically dead as a metal festival.

I wouldn't underestimate the drawing power of bands like bullet for my valentine and bring me the horizon. Both groups are pretty massive now.

Disturbed will also bring a decent number of fans.

Soundwave next year probably won't pull the crowds of recent years but it doesn't have to, there is only going to be like 4 stages so essentially it has been halved. AJ won't run at a loss for this Soundwave like he did this year with the 2 day event of which it was mainly Adelaide that cost AJ buckets of cash.

I don't think Soundwave is as dead as people are making out. I guess we will find out next year.

And they're playing the 'alive or just breathing' album in its entirety. Good shit IMO, great band.
