Soundwave leaks two bands for 2013 lineup

Shall definitely be in attendance for this one. Its like someone took my CDs and winamp playlists (or whatever the f**k we used to listen to music on back then) from high school and made a festival out of them.

Nostalgia value through the roof.... I just hope they all live up to the immensely rose coloured glasses I view all those bands with.

As a side note, it will be really funny to see Maynard take centre stage with Perfect Circle without putting on the contrived "I sit in the shadows because I'm such a tortured artist" routine he does with tool

Same Paramore aside. I take handle most of the bands on there. Early Linkin Park is decent. Blink, Offspring & Sum were staples of high school for me. Metallica speak for themselves. I am looking forward to Dragonforce & a perfect circle.

You must be around 30ish like me (ok I'm guessing here). I feel like I'm going into nostalgia overdrive. So much quality, all killer no filler. But if I were to be well and truly pumped for one song by one band, it would have to be Passive by APC.

I would have seen them at the 2004 BDO if Maynard didn't get cut because his band was put behind the Hoodoo Gurus in the pecking order. Ironically Metallica were the headliners that year as well. Knock on wood it doesn't happen again 9 years later.

Also Sum 41 have to be on the main stage this time. That was bloody ridiculous sticking them out on the small punk stage at SW '11. In Too Deep, that song rips.

yeah. 28 turning 29. Yeah. old school bands galore. The weakest band on the main stage Linkin Park. Have 2 good albums, 1 average and 1 terrible. I did watch them in 2004 at Livid festival. They put on a decent show. So that's something.

Yeah Sum 41 were big back in the day. I doubt AJ will make that same mistake again. Hopefully Dragonforce don't pull out this year

Two bands that id pay $40-$50 each to see. Punk has been screwed again
No Sleep still the best festival I've been to.

Only band which really gets me interested is blink (seen metallica twice) and even then doubt they'd play more than two songs off my favourite album of theres, certainly not 190 dollhairs interested.

This line-up kinda sucks (based on my taste anyway) but I've never seen Metallica and this might be the only chance (even though I'm dreading the effect it has on the number of people/crowding) so I'll probably go. Might go to the Adelaide one instead of Melbourne though.

Also would like to see The Lawrence Arms and Flogging Molly.

Yeah realised the Lawrence Arms and especially Flogging Molly on the bill, those two are worth seeing

Those are the two. Id watch Blink and Sum 41 if I was there but its not enough to justify a ticket for me.

I'll be in Europe anyway so hopefully you metal bogans have a great day and the 2014 lineup will be better for me

Longer set times this year apparently which is cool, between Flogging Molly, Lawrence Arms, Metallica and maybe Offspring or something I won't have too many gaps during the day hopefully. I don't wanna spend $160 to spend half the day standing around watching metal bands I've never heard of

There will be more bands announced which I think will be the punk bands

Why are people whinging about the price? 187 is alot but considering a Metallica sideshow in itself is 150 the soundwave price is justified IMO.

Is it $187? That AJ guy said on twitter it'd be the same price as usual, either I got the price wrong of the one I went to or it's increased. I can't imagine I would've paid nearly $200 though considering I only really wanted to see Protest The Hero.

Metallica gets me there, but apart from them and Anthrax their's not much to interest me at this point.
Fozzy should be good to see I guess.
Hopefully the second announcement is more interesting, if not and Metallica play a sideshow in Brisbane, I'd probably just go to that instead at this stage.

I was keen on seeing Motion City Soundtrack, Offspring, Linken Park, All Time Low and Sum 41... But that is a lot of moolah.
