If anything has been learnt from the last week, it's that that AJ guy likes to stir shit up, I find it really hard to believe there will be no sideshows, unless he's paying the bands a ridiculous amount to not play sideshows. They'll pop up after tickets go on sale for the festival I reckon.

Always wanted to see Van Halen.
Machine Head should be cool. Really should have got into them a while ago.
Alice Cooper should be great
And of course Devin Townsend will be the highlight.

this

disappointing line up really although I'm not into punk I at least though we may see some decent metal bands in there some where

much like the BDO you'll have to sit through some crap just to watch something decent like Machine Head

did Thrice really pull out? wow that brings the appeal down for me, quite a bit. Still, BR, Story Of The Year, Face to Face and Thursday should be good enough to get me there.

That's right. I will stay on the punk/metal stage until Alice, Van Halen and Machine head and depends where they play Alter Bridge. As far a festivals go it's pretty well set up to avoid that.

It's not like BDO where 1/2 the stages are Crap Dj/Dance music. It's all rock of some sort just stage hop it's sweet. The only band that I wont sit through is Hole Courtney Love is a bitch. Pretty Reckless may be more pop for my liking they do have a hot chick that sings in undies. Very watchable if I need to stay in the pit for later

Well Van Halen is rumoured to of demanded $1.2m a show. Maybe the high asking price was due to NOT doing sideshows. I guess we just wait & see

metal fans r usually the ones who do get a bit ripped off with this festival....but id say expect soundwave 2012 to be a metal festival.

SOAD already being rumoured as headliner
