He certainly speaks well , I`d love to know what the "six-page dec" he sent the interviewer contained, still have to be concerned around the financials though, fan-funding is not something I think the NRL will be interested in.
Perhaps though if one bid is ruled out the funding from that might get behind the winner, presently though splitting the potentials backers in a small market could be disadvantaging both of their chances though. This is where perhaps a centrally co-ordinated bid like Perth, Fiji or PNG could get the inside running.
Stadium is certainly a winner, and the future of our comp.

The stadium will be a game-changer.

Perfect playing conditions guaranteed, spectator comfort guaranteed, CBD location, handy to everything.

So much to like about it, and if all else is equal it might sway players to sign with the club, knowing they'll have a top-notch home ground just ripe for running footy.

Considering the current conditions in NSW and the effect it has had on crowds atm that point is really thrust into the spotlight.

We're at the same point now with covered stadiums that we were in NZ with lights about 25 years ago, with the dawn of professional rugby.

TV (especially pay TV) needed night games, and it became necessary for grounds here to add lights for that.

After the first few did it, momentum built for more and more to follow suit - and in Wellington after briefly considering upgrades including broadcast-quality lights for the old Athletic Park, the decision was made to replace it with the railyards stadium (Sky Stadium).

Thing is.. I believe that once we get a covered rectangular stadium with regular NRL games (Te Kaha in Christchurch, getting a Warriors game each year), the benefits to spectator comfort & game quality will zoom into sharp focus.

Do the recent SFS & Parramatta builds have provision for a roof to be retro-fitted? Because I think there will be demand for it once players and fans see how good it is.

A retractable roof would be best so natural grass can be used.

I don’t think the SFS and Parramatta have that capability unfortunately.

Oddly it’s Accor that does. It really needs to have the lower bowl moved in though. Do they in conjunction with a roof and it’d be pretty good. The nosebleed seats would still be a bit crap but the atmosphere would be so much better.

And Keas aren’t? They’re basically cockatoos but better

that’s basically the point, nothing wrong with bird mascots if they’re cool birds
I am a birder but I don’t know much about Kea. I’ll look into them.
I am fine with the name.

They’re a thick stocky parrot with the attitude to match. They trash peoples cars and steal whatever they can grab from campsites. They even attack sheep. They’re arseholes but they’re awesome

Kea have the perfect blend of intelligence, daring, and outright destructive tendencies.

A lot of native NZ wildlife is mostly harmless - Kea are a noteworthy exception, just ripe for a sports team mascot.
