Would I feel disenfranchised? yes
Would I continue watching RL? yes
Would I of eventually moved on after 25 YEARS, especially if the city I lived in had 9 other clubs? yes
Would I jump ship and follow the swans like WB? nope
Hahhaa

let’s see how big you talk once Jason ryles takes over as storm coach

P

Perf fans had 25 years to pick another sport or move to Sydney
again, exactly

Perth RL fans choice - pick a new code or accept you can no longer attend live games
Bears RL fans choice - 9 other NRL clubs & an abundance of games each week to watch live

its not the same

It’s exactly the same which is the point I’m making

if anything norths fans would be more likely to be lost to league entirely

the double standards on here by people like you who are desperate for Perth to come back in is hilarious

Im sure we'll do fine tbh, you'd think after 25 years we a due for a little performance dip, but even if it is Ryles he was mentored by Bellamy and he (& slater) will still be around the club - As good as Bellyache is Melbourne's strengths come from its systems and culture as a whole not a single person, the clubs main philosophy is "next man up"

the storm are the most successful nrl club built on spotting talented juniors mainly from qld

both their unusual run at the top and their access to talented qld players isn’t sustainable

let’s see how many storm fans hang around once they miss the finals for a few years

same with the swans but they do have more juniors in nsw after the afl has spent hundreds of millions

why? you're literally surrounded by RL in Sydney
In Perth you're left only able to follow from a distance on TV (you guys wonder why Perth Red is so miserable)

there's plenty of untapped ponds
the club has definitely realized this though, its not a coincidence they are getting more directly involved in nrl vic the same year the dolphins come in - I'm very curious to see what happens to the sunshine coast

Eventually (hopefully) vic should produce some more quality fruits, NZ and the pacific would continue to be bountiful (if you have the right scouts to pick the right players) as a sport we've barely tapped the potential of poached union players, then there's also England.

End of the day if we hold onto our scouts we'll continue to find hidden gems, it's honestly shocking how much young talent goes unidentified in nsw & qld, some clubs are really dropping the ball here

But I’m not wrong about the club am I ?

I’m sure the storm will look to png nz and super league to replace qld but obviously it’s not as easy as for any club with established juniors (like norths)

after 25 years you'd think you'd grow fond of your least hated one
another 20 years and there won't be many bears fans left anyway

expansion should be about the future, not appeasing a few vocal Sydneysiders who can hold an impressive grudge

easy is relative
good scouts make finding a continued stream of talent easy
Melbourne is ran like a professional organization

how many sydney clubs sitting on big nurseries are complete basket cases on and off the field?

its fine let him continue, as I said the club and playing group thrive off this sydney negativity, maybe that's the actual key to their continued success
It’s been a great club and hugely successful. Down here they are very popular. Their continued success is good for the game.
