Souths Duty of Care

It is clear that souths have massivley failed in their duty of care to players. Some recent examples:

Round 3 2014 v tigers: Greg inglis suffers one of the worst concussions seen on a footy field. He was completely out cold, not moving and needed to be put in a neck brace, then medicabed off the field. Despite it being standard procedure to not play the next game inglis plays next week.

Grand final: Sam burgess breaks his cheek bone in the first half and suffers a likely concussion. He is bleeding all game and absolutely nothing is said. After the game doctors come out and say that he could have died.

Round 2 2015 v roosters:Adam Reynolds needs to be helped from the field. Souths concede 3 tries in 7 minutes, miracuously Reynolds is then deemed fine to continue. His first kick he wobbles 5m, duffs it 8ms into the roosters defence. His next kick is equally shocking and his one after that goes out on the full with no pressure on him. Clearly still feeling the effects of his concussion. Yet no, winning is more important then the players welfare to South Sydney.

Will the NRL step in and pull their golden child into line? I think we all know the answer to that.

Apart from Wests, I don't think there's been a side to follow the concussion rules from top to bottom.

The NRL is never going to win. Clubs are always going to put winning games before the health of their players unless, in the case of Inglis and BJ Leilua last season (Happened more often I know but reminded here and off the top of my head) and Justin O'Neil last night, players are out cold.

Miraculously the Roosters still couldn't beat them

Souths not the only ones - and Burgess wasn't concussed, so different issue

It is frustrating, everytime a Wests player is concussed he seems to be automatically stood down next game, they've even done it with Farah. Farah mentioned on NRL 360 once we seem to be the only team that does it.

If the NRL are serious they would have an independent doctor at each game for this kind of thing.

He probably was out cold to be fair. On the drink at the casino.

Wests should be applauded for taking welfare of their players more seriously than the others...

Again, not seeing why Souths are worse than anyone else

Not sure why they don't have a booth set up on the sideline, away from each club and an independent doctor doing all the tests. Fine the club if they approach the player and doctor, make his call final.

Well... According to you, Reynolds is rubbish so I don't know why you suddenly think he makes a difference?

Heard them say at the Super Bowl they had an independent neuro trauma ologist (or similar!). Obviously a question of cost. Easier for nrl to make money off clubs not following rules than paying to ensure safety of players.
