Of course there should be an independent doctor, but like you said it's mostly due to perception.

Still butthurt about Sam Burgess playing 80 minutes with a broken cheekbone and burying your shithouse side, eh Tim?

The bigger joke was that butthead burgess was allowed to play the GF at all after trying to knock SBWs head off ...

Well multiple trained docs have come out and said that Reynolds was clearly concused last week, not just so-called "haters".

Independent doctors are a very obvious step to get around this. Someone like John Orchard I'm sure would be more than happy to take up such a position as he is quite a vocal advocate against concussion in sport.

On a side note, I for one am glad that the shoulder charge ban removed the scourge that was concussion from our game..

Now we're supposed to bring players off for broken fingers??

May as well give the whole thing up if that's how it's gonna go.

it's important to do so..

how do you expect the Muppets in red & green to point at the camera after scoring??

it's against OH&S requirements...

Dylan Walker's hand will be fine. If it were truly injured he wouldn't have been able to fire off that Americanised gang related hand gesture to the camera after his second try. Because he lived such a hard life in the Brooklyn ghettos.

Did he only flash the hand signal or has he actually donated some money to the cause as well?

There is every chance his brain is closer to his little finger than his head. In the fair dinkum department, players play with injuries all the time, good on him for playing through the injury.

I hear you produce your own gravitational field.

Now now, no need to be mean to the person in question.

People can easily solve a problem if things aren't going their way by simply throwing the toys out of the cot and starting off nice and fresh somewhere else. Its a valuable life lesson and a very effective tactic.

I remember one kid in highschool was very good at this. In 89 he was a passionate Tigers fan until after the last Sunday in September.
Then he was a diehard raiders fan for a couple of years until Penrith was the clear choice for a year, then the broncos were the team for him until the raiders regained his lifelong devotion in 1994.

We should all follow his successful strategies for a great life. People sticking solid with something is for losers. Perhaps a spot on the Liberal front bench beckons!

Only just saw the footage on Fox Sports news of Reynolds stumbling across the field.

Classic case of concussion if there ever was 1.

Yep and the Doctor doesn't have the excuse that they didn't see the incident, its replayed back for them on the sideline, he was clearly concussed, there was not even a need for the SCAT. The NRL should fine Souths for allowing him back on the field and serious questions should be asked of a doctor who clearly failed in his responsibility to the players welfare, the eels should receive the same for Peats return to the field.

I understand the difficulty for the doctors being put in that position between their duty to the welfare of the player and their employment, but if they are not strong enough to put the player's welfare above all else then they shouldn't be in that role to begin with.
