I really can't see it being an issue, bar Burt our backline is massive we will get through them with strength if we have to.

I don't think I've ever been as excited about a footy season as I am about 2010. The Eels have a super-strong team and touch wood as long as Jarryd doesn't get injured long term we're in with a chance. Fair dinkum I didn't expect much prior to 2001 so that year was a pleasant surprise. In 2005 we were coming off two horror years. 2007 followed on from a disappointing year. So this is pretty good. Its the year after making the Grand Final when we weren't even meant to be in the top 8. Awesome!!

Anyone think that this may be a problem for us this year?

While our backline isn't slow, I don't think we would be the top teams for raw speed in the backs.

One thing I noticed from the trial against the Panthers was the actual speed of our backline, we looked so slow. INU, Hayne have lost considerable mobility. Burt is quick but not like he used to be while Reddy is a cruiser. Grothe needs a 100m runway to start powering up.

Tahu is quick but not express.

Mortimer has average speed.

KK is probably the quickest of all of them off the mark.

If anything, our backline this year will be more muscle than speed.

Getting back to Hayne and INU they have baulked up so much. Hayne looks like he can play in the forwards he is massive. I think he should lay off the weights for a while.

Hayne will always be quick. His speed is very underrated. He will lose nothing if he gains muscle because he has a build like an Olympic sprinter.

Burt is the quickest from a standing start. I agree what you said about Reddy and Grothe. Inu is rubbish and should be released asap unless he takes a massive paycut.

Surely you are joking about Tahu, he is THE quickest in our side.

Fui would put pressure on Burt in terms of acceleration.

What I have noticed about Hayne last year is that he may not be the fastest but he can maintain speed for a long time.

You will notice in some tries or big breaks that he makes that a speedster will gain on him but can't maintain it for 80 or so metres and then drops off.

Exactly, Olympic sprinters get to maximum very quickly and maintain their top speed while other drop off which looks like that the leader is accelerating when in fact the others are losing their top speed.

IMO we have the best backline in the NRL. Speed, power, skill we have it all.

As far as speed goes I think Hayne, Grothe and Tahu are capable of scoring length of the field tries so I think we're well served in that department.

players have baulked up over summer as they're destined to loose it while the season progresses, if they eventually fall back to their natural weight - rather fall back behinf their actual weight if that makes sense.

It's standard.

the para backs need to see it more as distance over time

Well if we play like we did last year then I would say the backs will see alot more ball and alot ealier in the sets. It is important for guys like Cayless, Hindmarsh and Fui to get the second phase play going allowing the halves to link up with Hayne and Mateo who will be our trump cards IMO.

If Tahu and Inu get good ball in the centres early, we will see alot of impressive backline tries.

you mean multiple quotes? its all to do with the start quote [*quote*] and end quote [*/quote*] commands (take out the asterisks) you put them at start and end of what you want to quote i.e.
