Exactly, Olympic sprinters get to maximum very quickly and maintain their top speed while other drop off which looks like that the leader is accelerating when in fact the others are losing their top speed.
I roughly timed Hayne's intercept try v Canberra last year - he covered 95m in around 11 seconds - that's in footy gear , carrying a football.
Pretty damn close to Olympic sprinters if you ask me!

Assuming a World Record time of 9 seconds:

Olympic sprinter = 11.11 metres per second
Hayne = 8.64 metres per second

Not bad, considering he went from a standing start, is a huge mutha, and had to carry a football.
