Sponsor V2.0

Yep, as Jubilee Clip said in another thread, telegraph says we are looking for a sponsor - wtf happened?

Loan Sharks
CRONULLA are on the lookout for a new sponsor - their sixth in three years. They've now had LG, Hisense, Blades, Fisherman's Friend and Shark on the front of the jersey since 2009. Spare a thought for young fans such as nine-year-old Byron O'Halloran who saved all his pocket money last year to buy the latest jersey. The sponsor stayed for only three months.

looks like it was porkies for newman..

i mean if they had agreed to move, there logo would still be on the clubs website.

kind jack of this shit every year tbh. means our gear is out late every year, we look bad in terms of a business.

and then theres the members jersey, which the members who buy it at the time pay 199 bucks for. you dont even know what its gunna look like. if it will have the sponsors on it etc.

I thought that it was a 3 year deal.

I have never seen the Shark drink any where, so they obviously didnt get the market penetration and distribution right.

They signed up as a sponsor to get their name out there and now that hasnt happened they are jumping ship.

Was too good to be true. Shark energy sponsoring the sharks.

Oh well, i dont mind the blank jersey. Bluestone will prob jump on it.

FMD this is annoying.

Sick of these pretenders raising their hands to sponsor.

I hope Shaggs is right and bluestone jump on it.

We do have a 3 year deal.
This is a report in the telegraph with no quotes, remember that.

In saying that, it ain't worth having a sponsor who can't/won't pay and I don't think the club will accept lowball offers these days just to have someone on the front of the jersey. This clubs in good hands.

It's an assumption that it tastes like what cat piss would taste like.

Probably not ideal for me to say it given they sponsored the team but to me they were never a big name sponsor. Kind of like being sponsored by kirks soft drink.

I was reliably told that if the Development was approved, there were a host of sponsors ready to jump on board.

Perhaps we might be on the front foot with this one.

I certainly don't believe that we are in struggle street with cap in hand.

You might be on to something there. Particularly when the current sponsor is coming to YOU cap in hand about making payments:

Fair enough.

Why though would the club stay silent about it allowing time for the media to write articles that continue to perpetuate that we are a club that's struggling for corporate backing?

Aus, I hear what you are saying. Consider sponsorship the same as player negotiations, you don't want to release the details publicly until the deal is signed sealed and delivered.

The 10 mill has gone to Westpac hasn't it?

You guys are laughing if thats the case. Thats a lot of f**king liability freed up in the form of working capital you'd think.

If Newman is right, then that's a f**king red letter day for Cronulla.

I doubt they'd ever told anyone to f**k off before (apart from Gow) when they were offering a dollar.
