i really dont see what the huge problem is. hisense signed back on for the same amount of money, so essentially, we arent losing any money.

once we get a major sponsor, we will be infront. at this stage, we arent behind.

while its not ideal we dont have a major sponsor, its not the end of the world we dont have one either.

without knowing what has happened over the last few weeks with pending announcments etc id im not going to speculate what has happened behind doors with the negotiations. i will just wait patiently and trust that our current managment have a plan in place.

cant prove that we have one, and i cant prove that we dont. if we did have one, im pretty sure it would have been announced by now. what im saying is, we are no worse off if we dont have one, so i dont know why so many people are harping on the fact that we need to have a major sponsor right now! while its not ideal that nothing has been announced yet, there is no need for alarm.

the most important announcement this year is the development. i would be more concerned about the outcome of that than a major sponsor announcement. that is what will make or break us as we all know.

i dont give a rats about teams mate TBH. fact is we are no worse off than we were last year sponsorship wise, maybe your the one thats nuts if you cant understand that, im not fussed either way or not trying to start an arguement at all, but you seem to be convinced that having a major is the be-all and end of of the sharks, when they fact of the matter is, its just a small piece of the pie compared to the developement.

there are other teams without major sponsors. but right now, i will say it again, we are no worse off than we were last year.

Stevie, happy to take your word that the hisense deal is the same value so commercially we are neutral. The issue is one of perception. No major sponsor impacts on the confidence if the fan base which is already fragile. It also creates a perception that there is a lack of interest in business wanting to partner with us on that level. A major sponsor is an expectation for am nrl club and not to have one says something about our brand.

No doubt the management are working hard but it is all about results.

That's my point.

So the word on the street Is that hisense got a bargain for our "major" sponsorship last year. therefore if they are paying the same for the back then we as a club ate still selling ourselves short. UNLESS we actually get a new major we are not Ok.

It's obvious that if we have something it is development related. Therefore expect a June announcement which will be embarrassing for te club to announce a major sponsor 3 months before he end of an 8 month season.

As for the comments going around that the value is the same for 8 months as it is for 3 then I'm calling BS on that too.

Perception IS everything and currently for everyone apart from some the perception is diddly.
