McEvoy has a knack of putting Lucia Valentina in the worst positions.
I don't think it had the distance anyway, but McEvoy didn't help.

Admire Rakti died. I reckon it was nobbled. Weird ride.

Pretty unusual, and sad. It does sound a bit suss as well but it's not the race you'd be wanting to juice up the favourite. Maybe nobbled but they would have taken a swab regardless of whether it died or not. Just one of those things I guess and part of the reason I don't follow the horses like I used to.

I just think he is massive value- I highly doubt he could win but I do think he is a moral to run in the first half of the field and if he is capable of that then he is capable of running a hole and you are getting 16s to find out.

I take your point i.e. Melbourne, though I'm disregarding it as two of his starts have been at Goat Valley which isn't a track that suits the horse at all and I don't think he ran poorly in either of those races. The other start he was beaten 75 lengths and was lame after the race.

He has a lot of pluses that make me think he can runs good race, for starters he is an out and out stayer proven at 3200... He should of won the Metropolitan yet crazily he is twice the price of Junoob and Araldo (who he did beat that day). He is trained by Waller who is just a freak at targeting horses for certain races and having them running well on the day, Tye Angland jumps on board in good form. I like those middle barriers in this race I think there will be a lot of horses from the inside and out wide going forward so the speed should be on and hopefully he can just take a sit midfield get out cleanly in the straight and I'm sure he will be running home.

Protectionist FTW though

Thank you thank you

Doubt the japs will be back. Bookies stood to lose a fortune if Admire Rakti won. Nek minit it gets slaughtered, runs last and drops dead.

I'm sure it's just a huge coincidence.

I did have a bit on the winner ($50) but LV absolutely was murdered. That dumb jockey again costs me every single time. No idea why I had a bigger bet on LV and not on Protectionist. To make matters worse I had the first 4 and stupidly didn't just take the field to come 4th.

On the positive, up a bit today. Onwards to Oaks Day.

McEvoy's a scrub, can't believe I fell for him again.
I don't think LV had the legs for the trip, but we'll never know after that shitty ride.

The 3200m tests the best horses, this one was slighty off and shouldn't have raced.

but being favourite they wouldn't dare scratch him, imagine the outrage if they did.

the horse that came seventh and got spooked by some kid waving an Aussie flag in front of it's face kicked the fence.

They had to put it down as well.

Last year a horse died in the MC.

And to be perfectly frank, the field this year was the softest I've seen for years.

When a 9 year old comes second, you know you've got hacks behind you.

Notice how widespread the field was with 150 to go?

All hindsight rubbish.

If the field being soft was so obvious did you back yourself a winner a win big? It was a great run by protectionist.

Don't remind me, McEvoy positioned him too deep then he gets LV in no position to use her finishing speed! Just a mate of a ride. Any other jockey and it comes top 5 at least
