To be fair Duff man picked a few winners today!

Backing 4,11 Race 9 Turffrentein

Boxed Trifecta 4, 11, 1,2, 8

Exacta same numbers
You might have done well.

Who did you place your bets with because the differences in the dividends are incredible between Ubet and tab.com.au.

Can't be Ubet - the exacta pool was $0.

Wall of Fire came second to Lord Fandango by a length.

I don't feel the Herbert Power is a good indicator. Prince of Penzance came 8th in the 2015 HP by 7.7 lengths and won the Cup that year. In 2014, Protectionist came 4th losing to Big Memory by a length - probably the best indicator in recent times.

Rogan Josh was the last to do the Herbert Power/Melbourne Cup double in 1999.

Arwon previously in 1978.

Only about six horses have ever done it.

Gallic chieftain ran 3rd then went under by an eyelash in the geelong cup behind the horse that ran 2nd in the Lexus Vengeur Masque.

Boom time ran 4th then won the Caulfield cup. Lord fandango sat three wide facing the breeze all the way and ran 4th.

Historically not the greatest form race but it is this year.

Had the Cardinal in my top few picks until the barrier draw.
He'll have to be Houdini to get it to win from 24. It does have a long wind up when it gets going though looking at its German and US wins..

Don't let the barriers scare you off. Barrier 22 has been the equal second best barrier for winners over the last 15 Cups with two successes. Barrier 24 isn't that much further out. Have hope!

Poor Gallante has barrier 18 which has never won in the 80 odd years since barriers have been in use.

It doesn’t really matter because the race this year is junk, I’ve had a lash on him would of had a lot more if it wasn’t for Raggedy Andy riding it.

Sportsbet lol

Was quite drunk
I tried to check the dividends in their website but it's like navigating the Aegean Islands.

Click on Turfonntein results race 9 but can only get up to race 6.

??????

Meanwhile, Ubet paid about $78 for the trifecta while tab.com.au paid over $700.

Last year I completely overlooked Almandin. I hope I'm not doing the same again. I just think $8 is too short for what is a good horse, far from a great one.

I think I'm with Hayne Train atm in that I've narrowed my picks down to Marmelo and Red Cardinal. $18 for the Cardinal looks very juicy.

Oh and barrier 24 doesn't worry me at all. Didn't Heartbreak City have barrier 24 last year and almost won?
