Even thought it's a lottery race I can't have it. Not when Darren Weir who trained the horse did't want to run it- wanted to head to the smaller Cup in a few weeks, forget the name. That tells me something isn't 100% right.

The old Sandown Cup maybe? Probably called the Lad's Broke Canter or the Emirates Flop these days.

But I had nine horse box tri for $504. Should have went the first 4 instead which I had. That paid a few thousand from memory. Hindsight in punting shits me no end.

Won first up. 2nd behind humidor, 2nd behind bonneval and then forget it went around after it got smashed.

Can't run 3200m- only won once and that was as a 3yr old and it basically fell in, wasn't in Australian conditions either. Said it last year. Multiples sure, but won't win the thing. I was happy it was in the race last year I got twice the price for Almandin

Atm I feel like Red Cardinal @ $20 is real value. This is a horse that's won half his races, has never lost at 3200m and has no issue racing first up on his travels.

Would be $10 if it drew a nice gate definitely in the chances

If you put a bullet to my head and said you have to pick one horse to run top 10, Hartnell would probably be the one I pick, but it is also one horse I can definitely rule out.

His last run was a total forgive imo. He is a class animal and that will make sure he runs well again but is up in the weights and the MC seems to be an afterthought, a week ago they were saying either the 2000m race or the paddock.

He's going into all my tri's and first 4's, i've had a decent size bet on him as well. Apparently he has a good turn of foot which is something you need have to win a MC.

I disagree. It beat the rest of the field easily last year in a high pressure cup. Got stuck in the backwash of Max Dynamite in 15 and led and folded in the sydney cup which is definitely not the way to ride it ever.
