Just rewatched my boys Efficient's win in the derpy, what a win.

If he was sound he would of been one of the greatest stayers of the last 30 years.


I won more on him than any other horse, my BAE!!!!!

Loved him as a 3yo, eluded me completely when he won the Cup lol.
Got hookwinked by Williams twice before I finally landed one of his winners.
My 2 biggest Cup winners were the Diva in 02 and Shocking in 09.
Loading up on him twice in 3 days was so good I barely bothered with the rest of the carnival.

I had a massive double on him in 06 derpy into the cup. I was pissed when they scratched him.

I backed him for the cup the next year and kept on backing him throughout the year..

He ran home first up in the Feehan i think and he got a mile out of his ground but his last 100m was ridiculous i said to everyone thats the cup winner Peeps.


His Cox plate run looked poor a first glance but once again his last 100m was very strong through the line.

So i backed him again.

Then he's 27-1 on the day, so i backed him again, had a 10 buck quin and got the tri almost twice.

Won well over 5k on the day. Zabeel and Efficient = Sploooooooodddddge!!!!

Last years Derby Day winner paid alright
Nothing really stands out in it,
I like Ceshwayo of the longer priced ones..but don’t know if it’ll get it run to suit.

I was keen on Colette earlier in the week but missed the price. No value now though, it’s a dartboard job race.

Derby looks pretty open, lots of similar profiling horses. Young Werther looks really promising but it’s only had two starts, I’ll be looking for value.

Only positive - I’ve got one last 4 leg multi & September was the first leg winner lol
