Haha Stryker must be the forum motivator, eh?

So much positivity
Lol they’ve played 20 first grade games between them.
How about we take the training wheels off before any of them are identified for rep footy?
Talking young players up before they deserve it really shits me.
It stunts, if not ends careers.

Even Corey Allen sacrificed himself to save a certain try, epitomising all things Queensland and bringing enormous credit to himself and the game generally.

Having hated qld all my life I finally sold out this year.

When I visit the sunshine state this year, I’m going to make sure I:

* refrain from tailgating and abusing locals for fun.
* leave the shotty at home
* try not to piss on the statue of the king at Lang Park
* not throw my garbage out of the car especially at law enforcement
* pay for purchases.

It will be hard for me, but sacrifices need to be made.

Freddie’s reign of terror over the blues must end, No more lama drama or toe nutrient policy.

Queenslander!

Anna won’t let you in I’m afraid

Panthers forum reporting Whare could be off to France. If this is true they may be in the market for a replacement centre. In the event Laurie doesn’t get released then I guess Mbye will be our first choice FB. Any idea which of the Train and Trial guys might also be a consideration as we are going to need a back up.

In my view, our most underrated signing.

Part of our monster pack, properly led by Tamou, which in the opinion of Andrews Johns ( talking to Freddy) is the most important factor in a team’s success.

Despite a few concerns at rake, the Tigers forward pack in 2021 will be the most dominant we have seen for many years.

This will create the time and space needed for our strike halves and powerful backline.

This is a tough side as well, a bit of the mongrel in them. A few points to prove.

Free of the responsibility of captaincy, I can see Mbye playing better. Surely his 2 year slump is over?

I have no confidence in him but I wouldn't be surprised if he has a good year. He has pace, ball playing ability and toughness. I know people will laugh about the toughness but I watched him consistently belt it up when it was needed.

If he catches the high ball and he doesn't get injured I can see him having a big year. We need him too as well because the fullback position is our most problematic.

Emerging origin squad has been around for as far as I can remember, ffs Joseph Suaali from the Roosters was named in the same team and he's unlikely to even play NRL this year. It's a pathways program, not a guaranteed selection

I also see him in a valuable utility role. He used to be sub-marquee and create a lot in attack. No question on toughness.

He was very gracious surrendering the captaincy role to James and that reflects well on his character. No dummy spit cowardly nonsense.

He must be at the lowest point in his career right now and all jokes aside, I feel we should be supporting his personal fightback 110%

I’ve made the point before but when some of the big names of the club were flogging themselves senseless with gongs and self love, during yet another benji fest at BankWest Mbye deliberately walked off from that wretched love-in to be with us scum fans. And he was loudly cheered, waved at and clapped for his trouble. This is what makes us Wests Tigers fans.

That was an important gesture for us lowly filth in attendance who were being ignored by the club officials, the media and almost all of the big names.

Benji-fest and dont invite the fans into the event, ffs...

On a personal level, it was what I regard as leadership.

He’s made out to be proud and arrogant, he’s not, he’s a touch shy, but a f**king good guy and let’s give him the benefit and wish him every success.

We waited for Benji but he just f**ked off with the official party. Rugby league royalty, f**k that.

No shit it’s a pathways program..A pathway to mediocrity, and by the very definition of the programs it is talking players up.
In what way do emerging players with f**k all experience deserve to be spoken about like this? A proper pathway is Identifying and bringing in proven performers at NRL level who are on the fringe of rep selection and giving them a taste of what it’s all about and what they need to work on to be there in the next series.
Telling young blokes who barely understand first grade footy that they’ve been identified for higher honours is arse about bullshit. If they truly believe it is worthwhile then this information does not need to be made public. It means nothing.

Theres enough clues in there.

It was Benjis 3 millionth game or something at BankWest, 2019.

Rowdy came over as well with his little daughter and I think Thommo.

It was an evening of great shame and dishonour for the club to forget the fans. Mbye and a few soldiers rescued it.

I mean I somewhat agree but I don't know why it upsets you lol

Do you reckon it feeds their egos too much?
I edited my other response to elaborate but in a nutshell, yes. Anyone who gets told they are special, destined for greater things etc..before they have proven their worth, gain an inflated sense of self. That can be destructive.

As an example, I reference Brooks. He had a great debut and immediately “experts” were fitting him for rep jumpers. The club scrambled to secure him. Legends were comparing him to themselves and other legends such as Johnsy. I believe they all got in his ear and they f**ked him up. This circus cost Wests Tigers millions of dollars in contract money, let alone the opportunity costs associated with other halves over the years who may have worked out better and in the end produced nothing.

I don't get it... They do similar talent recognition in most fields, including education, arts and business. Mostly these things are about motivating people to push themselves harder, which helps separate the great from the good.

It's not about kissing their asses and saying they've already made it.

Blaming the media for doing what they do (selling drama to make money) as the downfall of Brooks is also misguided. Brooks is far from the first player to be given over the top acclaim before proving himself. What sets players apart is maturity and who you have around you to keep reality in check.

This was the clubs responsibility.
And they failed big time.

Wests Tigers have been made aware of an incident involving AJ Kepaoa and Zane Musgrove on January 30, 2021.

The club understands both players were fined by NSW Police for Failure to Leave a Licensed Premises and were not charged.

Wests Tigers are working cooperatively with the NRL Integrity Unit and NSW Police on the matter and will be making no further comment at this time.
