Yeah I’ve heard that too re knee.

But as much as Benji carried on, and as much as I think he’s tool cool for school and can be a flog, I wouldn’t boo or jeer him. That would lack humanity.

You're not booing Santa or Fred Hollows. jeeze.
Benji was a media leaking, coaching white anting flog. Good riddance. 05 was over 15 years ago, Imagine if a mate told you he was still with a bird because of a great bj she gave him 15 years ago....

You make excellent points and test my resolve.

I suppose the difference is that he was summarily sacked where the others wanted out.

And the parade of putrid chumpsters wanting to leave or who have left, denigrating our club. Ungrateful brats.

Ive left plenty of jobs and never once poured putrid hatred upon the past employer no matter what I thought. It actually supports our decision to cut them loose and shows a lack of self respect.

@stryker is a big boss with many employees, maybe he has a view on it. Hope so.

A lot of what Benji said about his dismissal was directed at painting himself in a good light. That’s to be expected.

But the difference between him and the unsettled others is that we punted him.

I suppose he was humiliated and maybe a bit embarrassed not being able to leave on his own terms.

Mixed message in this press release, so nothing firm about him coming here?

NRL 2021: Transfers, Jackson Hastings return, Sydney Roosters, Manly Sea Eagles, Super League, Wigan | Fox Sports

‘Know the real me’: Exiled star eyes NRL return and he has plenty to prove

Super League playmaker Jackson Hastings has declared himself ready to prove he deserves another shot in the NRL.
Hastings was released from the Sea Eagles after being dropped to the reserves following a reported altercation with Daly Cherry-Evans.

He also played 47 games for the Roosters where he reportedly got on the wrong side of some senior players in the squad.

Hastings is currently contracted to Wigan until the end of the 2021 season but he revealed to the Daily Telegraphthat his plan has always been to return to the NRL, if there is interest.

“The plan was always to eventually come back to Australia and hopefully get a deal to play in the NRL,” he said.

“I’ve been very lucky to go to England and play some pretty good footy and work on rebuilding my image.

“Australia is home, but this is where I didn’t fulfil my potential.”

Hastings added that returning to the NRL would give him a chance to prove he has matured since his last stint at Manly.

“I’d love to come back and change people’s perception of me, everyone knows what note I left on,” he said.

“I want people to know the real Jackson Hastings, not the person they saw four or five years ago.”

As for which team Hastings would prefer to link up with, the former NRL playmaker is willing to embrace any lifeline he may be thrown and prove he deserves another contract.

“Beggars can’t be choosers,” he added.

“You only need one club to show interest in. I’m not too bothered if the club’s been coming last or coming first.

“All I want to do is fit into a culture and earn the respect of the playing group that’s there, the coaching staff also.”

NRL 2021: Wests Tigers team, James Roberts, David Nofoaluma, Round 1, housemates | Fox Sports

The home sessions with ‘very needy’ flatmate that could unlock Tigers’ big weapon

Gun winger David Nofoaluma and star recruit James Roberts have moved in together after the latter arrived at the club over the off-season.

They live not far from the Concord training base and it’s a union that is already paying dividends.

9 days to go, can't wait.
Wow what a great article..Theres our season right there..Sensitive Pisces Roberts will thrive with a Optimistic Organised Strong Sagitarian as a friend..and support person..
Those two should rip it up this year
Maybe origin too

Liddle confident physical and mental strain finally behind him

Wests Tigers hooker Jacob Liddle says the mental challenges of his injury history outweigh the physical but he’s now fit and ready for a contract year.

Since Liddle’s debut in late 2016, his injury checklist has included a season-ending shoulder injury in late 2017 that impacted his 2018 season and a full knee blowout that included a ruptured ACL in late 2019 that sidelined him for another year.

All up, Liddle has played 44 games across five seasons, in a period that has seen Robbie Farah return to the club then retire, Matt Ballin recruited before he retired, and Harry Grant brought over on a loan deal before going back to Melbourne.

Liddle told NRL.com the physical challenges of returning were nothing compared to the mental challenges, but he is in a great space now.

“I’m feeling good – all intact,” he laughed. "Full summer. I came back and probably got six games at the end of the season.

"I wasn’t expecting to get back last season but I was happy to get that out of the way. Trained a full pre-season and feeling strong.

“It’s been really great, great for my body, great for my game. Great for the mind too, going into season off a big pre-season.”

Liddle doesn’t shy away from how tough things got after the knee injury, having only just reclaimed a starting spot thanks to a Farah injury in 2019.

“Yeah it was tough. There’s a lot of mental stuff around it. I think that’s probably most of it,” he said.

"The physical stuff, we train every day, you can get through that easy. It’s about the support around you, keeping that positive mindset, not looking too far down the road. You get back. It takes time but you get back eventually.

“That’s been my goal, just to keep plugging away. I’m ready to go now.”

There has been a great show of faith from the club in the former Australian Schoolboys and NSW under 20s hooker.

“They’ve been great. They’ve got me through there surgeries now, they supported me the whole way,” he added.

“Madge [coach Michael Maguire] has been great. I think I’ve brought my game a long way since I debuted in 2016.”

When the 24-year-old runs out on Sunday, fans can expect to see a hooker who has developed his talking game over the summer as he has built his confidence in a new-look side that piled on a huge 52-18 trial win over Manly.

“When I was younger I probably wasn’t the best communicator,” Liddle said.

“It’s something I’ve worked on a lot, I’ve come a long way since then. I think I’ve come on leaps and bounds this pre-season, so I’m really happy with that.”

Liddle will be a key man for several reasons this year; his speed and fitness under the new, faster rules could be a huge asset.

“I’d love to [play 80 minutes],” he added.

"I think that’s the goal for every hooker, especially with limited interchanges. But whatever Madge wants to do, if he wants to put another hooker on the bench or wherever he wants me, I’ll just play that role.

“The hooker is involved in everything. I think a bit of speed out of there really helps, it goes a long way with these new rules. It’s going to be fast.”

Off-contract at the end of the year, Liddle knows how important 2021 is but after some major setbacks, isn’t looking too far ahead just yet.

“This is the final year [of my current deal]; obviously it’s in the back of every player’s mind when you’re coming off contract,” he said.

“I’m just grateful to be back on the field to be honest. It’s been a lot of ups and downs over the last couple of years, I’m just grateful to be out there again that’s the main thing.”

So, we have 2 signings to go, we have a pocket full of cash.

What positions do we need urgently?

For me, it’s a half (?), a centre or a winger, with Blore and Amone soon to be available, I think our forward stocks are OK atm.

Whoever they are looking at, I hope they come soon, so we can settle them into the team, before it’s too late.
