Do any of these people think we played well last year, or did our opponents in the games we won just play poorly?

So you're happy for people to make the observation that whinging about a Nines game is pointless?

Absolutely, and the tournament itself is pointless but seeing Norman after five minutes exhausted and staying the same for the remaining 14 minutes is unusual regardless of what game they're playing.

After almost a full off season of training I would expect a professional athlete to have more than 5 minutes in them considering in a month he will be playing 80 minutes.

Strider has a point, he did get very involved to set up the try but still no excuse for one of our starting halves to be that unfit.

You know more than everyone else though so it's irrelevant what I think.

Well that is true but it's a fair question to ask regarding Norman's apparent fitness. What is your own hypothesis?

Was he perhaps too involved in attack and then targeted in defence?

Off the top of my head. yes. I think everyone was raving about how well we played against Manly and Souths early in the season.

Too much weights, not enough speed (and endurance) work.

To be honest I was watching it on my phone as I'm in Tasmania for a wedding and am out and about. I have iQ'd it and want to see it again but watching it I thought we looked a little slow and unprepared. Which is fine if we're not taking it seriously because it isn't relevant unless you want the money on offer.

Norman was just very noticeable above everyone else. He was definitely very involved early and was looking very dangerous but then ran out of puff.

We'll see at 2:25 if it's the same I guess.

First thoughts are that we played as if it was an NRL game when is possession ,little learnt other than one side kicked well and other played a power game and didn't use their backs or space.

I agree, definitely looked like that.

It was also pretty bloody wet, something the cameras didn't really show

Yeah I missed the first game too. I was stuck in Cronulla riding jet skis and eating in fancy restaurants. Hopefully I'll catch the next game.

Training and game time are totally different. I wouldn't be to concern, it's not like he looked overweight or slow ( was moving pretty good). The first bit of game time each year always tests the fitness plus it's pretty expansive footy, meaning more running than normal.
