Sri Lanka tour of NZ

Also I think all our quicks will be much faster in Aust and Boult with the red ball will be very slippery

Shit the WC depends a lot on Baz, Kane and Ross, just worries me that Baz has decided he's going hard early, he should ease off a touch and let Guptill go for it

Remember we'll only play one match in Aus, the final- the only other possibility is a semi, but that will only happen if we play the semi against Australia, and they'd qualified higher than us (probably meaning they'd have earlier beaten us at Eden Park). Other than that as hosts we're guaranteed to play at home for the whole tournament.

Another fail from Taylor. Well I think we know where our strengths and weaknesses lie now, regardless of the eventual result here. A lot of weight on McCullum and Williamson's shoulders.

Yeah was thinking about the tests later and would really like yo see Milne and Henry on quicker decks

Dan rolling the clock back, great fun!

Dissappointing final ODI but at least that loss squarely down to one thing, the failure of the top order apart from Williamson who was class as always. The players from Anderson down all played their part well, if Guptill, Latham and Taylor had scored 50 more runs between them the tail would've got us home nicely.

I'm a bit glad we lost that, starting to get a little complacent in the media about how good we are.

We're definitely a lot better than we've been in a very long time, but still not quite at that top level.
Still another gear to go if we're going to win the cup.

We have that gear, just not convinced they'll find it...

Guptill looks beyond help at the moment, Taylor weirdly out of sorts and Latham hasn't been given enough game time to mount a challenge, and tbh I think he's Moore for the next WC or tests alone

Bowling wise rotation is fine given the group is very strong and they continue to go well but I am itching to know who they see as the #1 attack... But I guess that's ok Aust probably in a similar spot with their quicks.

Frustratingly Jessie would be the perfect guy to bring to fill that troubled openers spot...

But understandably they cant bring him in... You just can't overlook his behaviour issues...

As much as I'd love to see big jess out there smashing it... I support what the selectors have done 100%

Yeah he's too disruptive

I do wonder if Devcich or Brownlie should be there ahead of Latham or N McCullum. Not sure we need the two spinners harsh to leave him out but Dan is better and doubt we'll play two often

bring back Jessie..

thought the Sri Lankans played very well..

No Jessie, certainly he is being missed in terms of his batting but he doesn't fit the culture at all and that is very important imo. Hesson is onto something here and for the first time in about a decade we're finally playing as eleven guys.

Sri Lankan's showed promise but they rely too much on the big three and aren't a threat to the World Cup title.

If we are indeed top 3 contenders for it, we should have been putting them away.

Exactly right. Though he is needed, he has cooked his goose with NZ cricket.

I'd have Brownlie in, Guptill out. Anyway. Too late now.

Think Guptill was always there given his record, but he's streaky he might reverse it and he had been scoring for Auck. No real backup is the worry

They won't get rid of him now, and it is fair to say there isn't really a better option.
Can't strongly justify Devicich or Brownlie

Good enough reason to bring him in I reckon.

I like the guy, gun player and backs himself, shame he couldn't get his shit together.
