There's some bizarre stories coming out, they reckon the police knew there was going to be an attack a month ago, and this slightly dubious website says the route was changed after an anonymous phone call:

An anonymous call made the police in Lahore change the route of the bus taking the Sri Lankan cricket team to the Gaddafi Stadium.

According to Pakistan media reports, the caller asked the police to use the Gulberg route instead of travelling along Ferozpur road as had been decided earlier.

Sources have said that the police followed the caller's instructions without ascertaining his identity, which led to the police falling into the trap.

I never thought this would happen in Pakistan, yes there's plenty of crazies there but I can't understand why they would attack the Sri Lankans, unless it was the Tamil Tigers and even then I still don't get it. It's a cricket team ffs.

Simon Taufell was jsut interviewed on Foxsports News

He said their but was guarded by a convoy of 25 armed commandos and when the shooting started, they all pissed off.

Just read that report, I can understand the police maybe not wanting to get involved but 25 commandos not doing anything has to bring some questions.

Yeah I agree. I'm surprised they haven't arrested any of them yet though, and the response and security at the time wasn't great from what Taufell is saying. I still feel for the police though, it was obviously well planned and used a lot of terrorists.
