St George v Manly

Mary cant make changes because the cutters are going poorly, and nobody can justify being promoted to firsts.
They are inconsistent, if the players people want to move up are not up to it for reserves how can they playl firsts
Well they aren't the Cutters anymore they are just Illawarra and if you looked at who they haven't had available you'd see why they have been inconsistant.

The team is young and now even younger after Nona, Lewis and McCarthy have all been let go and players like Havili, Dodd and Hutchison all injured.

To top that Head picks Marketo at 9 ahead of Robson and some of his other selections are even worse then Mary's and imo he has certainly let the team down with poor coaching.

If the boys give a rats arse about this season they'll come out firing and save our season, this is a winnable game for us and it's at home.

Manly's weakness is in the second row so we need to play wide of the ruck and send a lot of defence at Winterstein and Lane who are both weak defenders. We also need to target Kelly's side all day long especially since he now has Uate defending against him. What helped us win that game against last year was Aitken consistently breaking Kelly's tackles so both him and Nene need plenty of early ball in order to take advantage of that.

Also with Sele being dropped, does this mean that were finally back to having JDB playing the full 80?

And why wouldn't Illawarra be playing poorly?

They lost an excellent coach.
They've seen thier friends and club mates stuffed around by an inept first grade coach who selects players for one game and sits them on the bench for 70 minutes and then drops them.

They've seen the first grade players go down injured or off on origin duty and never even get a sniff of first grade while inferior players get shuffled around the backline.

They've seen the first grade team basically fall of a cliff over the last 10 rounds and still never get given a chance.

They see other teams selecting thier 20y.o players who go on to great success while they languish with no path to firsts.

I'm sure every young player at the whole club is disheartened by never getting a fair go.

This Year?

He's such a great coach. Slowly rotating a few youngsters over the year as he explained and the way fired up a little when asked about Dugan. No wonder the players love him.

Me also.
We seem to attract the teams with a siege mentality due to outside influences or desperate for a win which normally goes pear shape for us.
Mate its about time we used some reversed psychology on these clubs and belt them whilst their down so to speak...Im pretty confident we can win this one...rip into em boys take no prisoners and give it to em for 80 minutes

Yep boys need to deadset fire :fire: up and rip in this week get this season back on track.,. UP THE MIGHTY DRAGONS!!!
So if we need to "get this season back on track" as you put it one would assume that we are off track?
That being the case how come all the love for our boy scout patrol leader?
He's the bloke with the compass isn't he?

We are just about full strength so there can be no excuses.
We need the 2 points more than they do.

Maybe foolishly, I still feel we can have a late dig at the top 8 from here starting with Manly this Sunday.
