The reality check needs to be applied here. There is zero chance of a new stadium In The south of Sydney. Zip zilch nada.

the only option is to upgrade Caltex. It can be done but we’d have to play away from he For another 2 years. Oh and we’d need about 120M

I think getting 120m is more likely to come from a gov bullshit "community initiative" than the gov saying lets help the sharks.

so given all these truths

the club needs a better stadium
the venue is currently shit
the sfs whilst better will us lose whatever identity we have
we dont have any money for it ourselves
the government wont spend in this area
the government wont give money to a single use venue privately owned
there are limited options for a new site

what are the realistic options?

What could they upgrade and still get increased capacity? Something out of left field like 5 storey grandstands? LOL

Capacity is over rated. It’s the premium experience I’d be aiming for.
1 side of the field 10 stories tall 40 x 5m long private boxes. That’s 400 boxes sold at $250-$500 is $100k to $200k a game.

Also swap out normal grandstand seats for “gold class” with wider seats, drink & food holders and more leg room. 10k capacity as the premier place to watch a game.

Id prefer to spend $250-$500 in my own mini box with mates or the family. Split between a few is a very cheap experience these days.

They can do a deal with a developer they can add apartments on the opposite side of the boxes and club owns the private box’s

The ET & Porter Stands being converted into a three tier wraparound grandstand comes to mind. Always believed they should've done that when the Porter Stand partially replaced the old Southern Hill.
Whatever they end up doing they have to make sure there are a bunch of shit speakers perched on top of 20cm diameter metal poles jutting up through eye lines every 5 metres or so.

we can dream
No idea why it wasn't proposed in the first place when the Monty Porter Stand partially replaced the old Southern Hill.

I get it they can't touch the Family Hill because of the telegraph wires that got put underground but in my mind it was a nonsense as to why they didn't think of converting the Porter & Ettingshausen Stands into a wraparound three tier stand.
