When I watch him go at the high ball under pressure he almost looks hesitant to me. You are right its not an easy situation at all and I don't have a stat to say he is better, worse or the same. Just doesn't look like the Dylan Edwards we know.
Look across the whole game. The games changed and the way the nrl has come down on blockers is effecting every fb in the comp...
I dont think hes lacking confidence at all under the high ball. When does he ever drop a torpedo uncontested bomb?? Basically never..
Hes been the safest fb in the comp the last 5 years..this year at least according to z5ero tackle hes made 7 errors in 7 games.. id think at least 3 or 4 of those weren't from kicks. And we're poor mistakes in the play the ball etc...
3 dropped bombs in 7 games in the current game and the way it's reffed is very good..
If dyl is more hestitant than in the past id suggest its based on the fact he knows blockers are basically dead in the game know and hes on his own at the back.. no protection
I thought he was very very good on Wednesday.. didmt overplay his hand..finished off tries. Was everywhere in defence and did the tough stuff hes renowned for..
Is he struggling under the high ball... categorically no..has the game changed and is there allowed to be a heap more pressure on catchers... yes.. any sign of blocking now and players out smart the ref nd take a dive and we all know it gets blown as a penalty..
Its harder then ever for the back 3 atm.
