Did you watch the Grand Final? he was one of the best on ground.
Idris isnt much help, Turner is one of the better defending wingers in the comp.
Maybe the Dogs should rush someone up on the inside of Idris to block any cutout attempts. Storm do this with Cronk.

F*ck I hate this crap AFL talk creeping into our game thanx to Victorians. What, was he really excellent when he was getting up from being tackled?

The correct pronunciation in states where people attend high school (ie N SW and parts of Queensland) is to say "best on THE ground".

The word you were looking for is thanks not thanx.
Now isn't that a rather novel way for you to prove your point about education in NSW and parts of Queensland.

And you are picking me up on grammar?

Is that because your is crap? Or because you are too dumb to make a comment about Turner?

Did you insult my grammar with another mistake on purpose? I will freely admit to making many mistakes in regards to both grammar and spelling, but then I’m not the one boasting about my education unlike the rather ironic nature of your previous post. Finally was name calling really necessary? If you wanted my opinion all you had to do was ask rather than engage in such infantile insults.
As you asked ever so nicely for my comments I’ll indulge you, I believe that Steve Turner is one of the better defensive wingers in the NRL. He was involved in the best defensive combination in the NRL last year alongside Will Chambers and Cooper Cronk, one that conceded only 18 tries during the entire 2009 season. Steve isn't by any means a superstar of the game, but Zappa is a great defensive winger and he played an integral role in the success of the Storm over the last 4 years.

Agreed about the AFL crap.

The normal league term would be "Man of the Match".

I also hate "win the flag", "list", and "hooter". (although I do like hooters)

I think Idris long term belongs in the backrow, last year Tigers and Parra showed him up and other teams have seen that and taken it on board.

BTW "Idris better than Folau at the same age"-Wendell Sailor
Folau was a premiership winner, origin and test player by 19, Idris still has man cans

Yes i know you are trolling. Anyone who's career finishs with a premiership and some sort of rep honours, will be above average, Turner is certainly not great, but he isn't a turnstyle and can catch the ball. Wendell spent the first half of his career dropping the pill.

Every club has/had a quickish finisher winger unable or unwilling to commit to every second tackle that played two years of first grade games over say four years, scoring lots in the first year, less during the rest of the first grade career-and then goes to second tier England or country rugby league-unless they kick then its six to eight years of first grade.

Putting aside those types, Is Turner a lesser talent that a goal kicking freak but turnstyle like Eion Crossan?, and as GKD said as above, Covell without the goals?

especially 'the flag', its a premiership, the grand final, the title, 'list' is certainly taking over from 'graded', 'hooter' vs siren are still neck and neck

Inglis didn;t do him many favours rushing in and showing no confidence in the kid inside him. Turner was left covering centre and winger for most of the game. He's no world class but he's not a bad player.

Idris left Turner on an island many a time. Watching him live really opened my eyes to how bad he is defensively.

This thread is garbage.

A shortlist nominee for the worst I've seen play top flight league in this country is the Cronulla-Sutherland winger circa 1994, Eion Crossan. I can remember him putting a sidestep on Mal Meninga.... sadly for the Sharks, Big Mal had the ball and was running like an angry buffalo.

On Steve Turner, I can recall the former Melbourne flanker showing enough consistency throughout his now lengthy first grade career to be selected for a State of Origin match. I can recall the kid being part of four Grand Final campaigns recently and also delivering an outstanding performance in the most recent NRL Premiership decider.

To suggest he is the worst winger ever more accurately shows the limitations of the person that started this thread.

Someone said Morris makes something out of nothing?
I disagree... morris is just a deadset class finisher!
he does what great wingers do... stay wide on his wing and put the ball down in the corner.
