I didn't agree with the thread initially, because it was way too premature considering that they had only played the one game.

But yeah... A massive sucked in to Italy!
And well, well done to our Kiwi brothers... amazing to go through the World Cup undefeated.

They didnt win anything either....

I think Slovakia gave every team a run for their money in the diving department.

The funniest part was when the Slovakian player got ready to come on, all pumped and then the sub gets cancelled, LOL epic fail!

And as for the above comment, that was mean, i wanted Italy to win :( and i felt really sorry for them when i saw Quagliarella crying!

Sucked in to these ingracious, divey little sh*ts. Their display after getting knocked out was abolutely pathetic. Too busy on the ground bawling to shake hands, Lippi the dickhead just walking straight off without bothering to shake hands with the opposition. A team of arrogant cockheads who got what was coming to them.

Exactly!....Every team dives and everyone knows it! People are just looking for a reason to put the boot into Italy while they're down becuase they're to narrow minded to get over the fact we lost to them 4 years ago.....I guess its a human psychology thing or something.

Its a sad, sad blight on the game and even worse that you have to do it just to keep up with the opposition.

Seems our own Socceroo's have woken up to this after Lucas Neill's "performance" yesterday!!....I guess we've submitted and taken the attitude of "If you cant beat 'em, join 'em".

I definitely think the socceroos should subscribe to this attitude. I mean all European and South American teams do it as does just about everyone nowadays. Why should a team put themselves at a disadvantage by not going down cheaply when others do it a million times a game and get a million free kicks and possibly score from these chances. As much as many people hate it, its a tactic and one that worked well for Italy in 2006. So when in Rome...

They're cheats, that's why!!!

Well done and hard luck at the same time to the Kiwi's but beating Italy home, PRICELESS.

I don't understand how someone can support a country other then the one they were born and raised in.

My Father is from Serbia and my Grandfather is from Hungary, there is no way i'll ever cheer them over Australia.

Lippi the dickhead just walking straight off without bothering to shake hands with the opposition.

Just to clarify, the Slovak coach confirmed Lippi personally congratulated him and his team in the tunnel, it just wasn't shown on TV. So please don't take what that dickhead Mike Tomalaris says in a studio 50,000km away.

As an Italy fan, I say good riddance to bad rubbish. From day one of Lippi's return, this was a Lippi and friends Juventus boys club. He got what he deserved with his arrogant and pig headed selections.

As an example, our central defensive partnership of Cannavaro and Chiellini shipped 57 goals this season just in Serie A alone. Lippi thought they would pull on an Italy shirt and magically become gods, like most of the other players he picked. Was never going to happen.

Lippi was too stubborn. Cannavaro was greedy for having to go around one more time despite such an awfully diminished ability. The players are shameful for such little urgency and hunger for 260 minutes out of 270.

I knew we had an ordinary side, but never realised just how bad. This was the worst Italy side ever to be called up to a World Cup, and they performed accordingly.

Congrats to the Slovaks, very well deserved.

Nevan, you're the kind of person who makes me proud to live in a country like Australia, where ethnic background doesn't have to be important (but unfortunately does too f**ken often). God bless you.

Just on the Slovaks, yes their time wasting was horrible in the last four minutes of injury time. Please note what is completely wrong with that statement. 3 minutes had already passed before they really started doing that, full-time ought to have already passed and spared them resorting to such silliness. There was like five minutes of injury in the Italy-NZ game too.

I can't think of many other matches this tournament where injury time has stretched beyond 3 minutes but whenever I see Italy play and hunting a goal towards the end of the match they just get so many minutes added on. How do they do it? Italian coaching staff swooping on the fourth official like vultures at every half-stoppage and ensuring every last split second is added up? I dunno, it doesn't make sense to me.
