He’s in the side.
Norman can play reserve grade. I don’t care how much he’s getting paid.

So if Hunt plays well next year
1. why wouldn’t we keep him?
2. why will he be punished?
Yes if what you’re trying to say is he’s on too much money people forget there’s a few very close to or over $1m dollar players out there that we could say are in the same boat
Milford, Holmes, Morgan, Klem, Dugan, Johnson?,Fifita, Norman, Moses, Woods, Brooks, Taylor, Hess.
Yep little scrutiny compared to Hunt goes on those above
Why? Is that because they see someone who appears a little bit fragile mentally after dropping an important bomb in a GF.
Isn't 2 million of your cap tied up in Hunt and Norman? You can add Moylen to that group ( he even forgot how to complete simple tackles ! ) At least Hunt is nowhere near this standard ( though Corey is ! )
There are too many NRL players on 800k plus that just dont deserve anywhere near that money and they really compromise their clubs salary cap flexibility. Why they just single out Hunt amazes me.At least he doesn't f**k up his clubs culture like Fifita, Dugan & Milford .

The focus is on Hunt because he plays for us.So if Hunt plays well next year

I am not talking about our scrutiny..I am talking about general media is out of balance to Hunt than others right from the time he signed for the perceived $1.2m a yearThe focus is on Hunt because he plays for us.
Go have a glance at the forums of teams that your listed players belong to. Those supporters would happily move them along too, and don’t give a shit about hunt.
$9:50M is correct!I am not talking about our scrutiny..I am talking about general media is out of balance to Hunt than others right from the time he signed for the perceived $1.2m a year
Naturally individual forums focus on their underperformers..that is a no-brainer
I certainly wont be glancing at other teams forums
I’ve always been amazed at the scrutiny Hunt is always under from the media compared to others. It’s not his fault the club was desperate & offered overs which he gleefully accepted. You can add Moylen to that group ( he even forgot how to complete simple tackles ! ) At least Hunt is nowhere near this standard ( though Corey is ! )

Every time his name is mentioned in the media it’s always accompanied with the million $ player. No others have their contract value mentioned.
$i.know. Tell that to those that like to divide$9:50M is correct!

At the time of the signing I thought it was brilliant that we were finally going to have a world class halfback that we had desperately missed for many years. I also defended paying overs as that is what was necessary to attract such a quality player to SGI at the time.100% correct re the media scrutiny....unwarranted compared to other under-performing players.
At the time it was a good deal...the market shifts....like anything...We needed a recognized 7 and that is what we went for....Pity certain peoples regimented games plan never suited the player......
Have a good evening.

I think the big disappointment and the reason why Hunt is scrutinised so much is that not only has he been very inconsistent at 7 he actually lost that spot to a rookie in Clune that was on minimum wage.
If Hunt had have stood up and played like a world-class halfback nobody would even discuss his salary anymore.
And I don't think that you can blame all of Hunts faults on the lack of game planning from the coach.
Yeah agree, and on the occasions he's played origin at 7 he has pretty much bombed even with a great side around and a good coach. He also has the worst field goal percentage in the NRL and I could count the games on one hand where he has taken the bull by the horn and guided us to a win with game management. He's won a few with show and goes etc but that's not a high percentage play you can rely upon from your million dollar half. Lets hope Hook/Soward can work a miracle and get him to have his finest few years and finish his career strong. At the time of the signing I thought it was brilliant that we were finally going to have a world class halfback that we had desperately missed for many years. What fantastic news George. Thanks for posting. We can all sit back now and relax and look forward to 2022 and beyond. The best news as far as I am concerned. Good on the club, the negotiators and most of all young Bud for being loyal and having the Red V in his heart.Exclusive: Telling Hunt hint as Dragons fend off rivals to re-sign young gun

St George Illawarra have secured its future in the halves with the club agreeing to terms with young halfback Jayden Sullivan for three more years.
The 20-year-old, already under contract for 2022, was free to talk to other clubs from November 1 but after fielding plenty of interest the South Coast junior will recommit to remain in Wollongong until the end of 2025.
It’s a move which shows the Dragons are planning for life after Ben Hunt with the skipper having two years remaining on his contract.

**I have had this confirmed to me.
