If we followed tradition in the purest sense, the NRL would be a 2 team competition between Souths and Easts. I wonder who would play in the grand final.

Why can't Queenslanders respect tradition - for once?

How refreshing would it be for a Queenslander to say "no, as much as I love Queensland the Grand Final should remain where it always has been - Sydney".

How would Queenslanders feel if the situation as in reverse? - and be honest - very angry I bet.

In fact, Shane Webcke has in the past said that teh Grand Final should always remain in Sydney. It would be nice to see other Queenslanders support him.

If the NRL keeps taking Sydney for granted it will be lost to other codes forever.

Once the AFL grand final moves from Melbourne or the FA Cup final from Wembley then that will be the day the NRL grand final should move from Sydney.

Its not about bums on seats, its an acknowledgment of the strong support QLD gives RL.

all you need for a world cup stadium in soccer is 40,000 seats.

NSWRL are under the impression that QLD and Vic are looting their treasure trove. I see it as borrowing.

I support the introduction of out of town teams. It's the NRL now not the NSWRL... but that is no ecxcuse to take the Grand Final out of Sydney.

The AFL is no longer the VFL, but I don't see them moving their grand final from Melbourne.

Admitting out of town teams is what the game needs to progress. Nothing against out of town teams and it's supporters. I am talking here soley on the NRL grand final moving out of Sydney.

However, Sydney's rugby league traditions also cannot be destroyed at the same time. There needs to be a happy balance. One cannot survive without the other.

If the Sydney comp didn't expand the game would be dead in this country. Likewise, without a strong Sydney presence the game too would also be dead in this country.

I want you Sydney haters to be totally honest with yourselves - if the grand final was held in Brisbane fro the past 100 years, how would you react to the grand final being moved to Sydney? BE HONEST!

Barring that emotional arguement - there is no logical reason to move it from Sydney anyway. ANZ Stadium fits 82,000 and Suncorp fits 52,000. It's been a success there.

I get the feeling that the NRL might be using this grand final issue as leverage against the NSW state government with regards to pokie taxes.

This is the last post I am doing on this issue, because I don't want to waste my time arguing with Queenslanders and Sydney haters.

I believe in a concept called evolution. Your club is a direct result of evolution. The only teams that are still around since inception are Souths and Easts. All clubs have a genesis, they started somewhere including St george, Parramatta, Brisbane , Titans.

If tradition means NSWRL then you are wrong. I you look at history of Rugby League, Victoria has been a part of it.

If we moved the grand final to the MCG on the right occassion the NRL will land a knock out blow to AFL. But i imagine there will be a lot of corporate seats and travelling packages. The timing must be right.
