Would I be correct in assuming Vossy was on the outer from the moment Hadley crawled up Rabbs' arse and organised the statue?

Voss has the talent because he studied media at university and also had years of training. Most of these ex-players (whom as I said in another thread, in Australia, we have a fixation for shoving ex-players in front of a camera, not just in rugby league) have had absolutely no media training or communication skills other than the odd interview they've had to do during their playing career.

Someone else also mentioned how articulate the AFL players are on their Footy Show. I 100% agree with that. I believe that their players have to undergo media training IIRC. The NRL should also adapt a similar initiative, rather than just shoving random nuffies infront of a camera who cannot go more than a few words without saying "Ahhhhhh.....ummmmmm..." all the time.

Some players will never get there though. Greg Inglis has been doing it for years and still sounds as thick as two short planks. Dugan and Bowen too.

Some others are naturals. From the Raiders I've noticed that Jarrod Croker and David Shillington are brilliant in front of the camera.

I'm sure they all do get training, some are just naturally better than others.

So....being canned from calling the 2nd FNF match when you're on the verge of succeeding Rabs as the main caller on the network, canned from hosting the Sunday Roast, canned from hosting The Footy Show's "Stuff you may have missed" segment, and relegated to calling park football whilst occasionally filling in for Rabs when he doesn't feel like travelling outside of NSW on a Sunday afternoon...that is a dramatic fall from grace within the space of 12 months. I bet ya that Voss can see the writing on the wall, cannot wait for the year to be over and will jump at the opportunity to either Ch7 or 10

Vossy was even a better caller than Rabs. Rabs is an awful caller whose eyes are letting him down way too much these days. Hes just annoying now. Why do nine use fatty in qld matches. Do they think Queenlanders actually like him or something.

Well, from looking at the draw of the first 7 rounds, none of the Ch9 Sunday games (excluding last week's Warriors/Manly game) are outside of Sydney/Newcastle. In Rd 8, Ch9 will probably choose Broncos/Titans as their QLD FNF match and either Eels/Tigers or Bulldogs/Sea Eagles as the NSW FNF match, with the other being their Sunday game (since Fox has already had their two choices as the Dragons/Roosters and Storm/Warriors ANZAC day double header).

So, it looks like Voss' next game could be either the ANZAC test in Auckland or the City-Country game in Mudgee during April 20-22.

I reckon the year Vossy sat on the Thursday night Footy Show panel was the beginning of his downfall. I actually enjoyed him on TFS, but he copped so much negativity from people on forums such as these and from the usual agenda-driven set in the media.

The current Sunday Footy Show panel/Sunday Roast is a utter bore, disgrace call it what you like. The people at Nein coming up with all these horrible ideas deserved to be punted immediately.

The rights need to be split up more than ever and if 9 were told to piss off completely then I'd be happy.

I used to love the Roast, always looked forward to. This was an utter disgrace.

When I heard that merkin Webster claim concussions weren't a big deal I knew it was time to shut it off.

RIP the Roast, feel so sorry for Vossy.

Vossy WAS the Roast.

Andrew Ryan and Tim Gilbert have the personality of a pea and that union-loving Webster clown is just a typical News Limited trashite. Webster seems more interested in giving Kevin Sheeby and GWS more oxygen that he does pumping RL's tyres. Remember Webster following Sheeby to Prague just to write an AFL puff piece? Webster's first love is rugby union anyway.

The only reason he writes RL is because that's where the work and the money is.

Yeah I feel sorry for Voss. Not everyone may have liked him but surely he deserves better than this shit.

The only person who needed to be dropped from the Roast was TK. Voss, Gus and MG worked well together, even if they could all be gronks at times.

What kind of contract is Voss on? Surely he's seen the writing on the wall and is looking to get out.

I used to love the Roast. It was awesome!! a great show to watch before Sunday footy begins.

Now it's a piece of shit. Vossy > Gilbert. MG was great, now bobcat who's pathetic has replaced him. Mad Dog was ok, but not up to the old Roast standard, and Webster was woeful.

One thing i used to enjoy was the little videos they'd play as they go to ad breaks. where have they gone?
