Does Hussey bowl?

Can Hussey catch?

1. Hussey has 2 test wickets. So yes.

2. Incredibly stupid comment, even for you. Some of the screamers Hussey has taken, particularly from Gully, would rank very highly in any highlights list.

But neither of these things are relevant, because you said he's our most important batsman. Batsmen don't need to bowl or catch ( though it's preferred), therefore Hussey >>>>>>>> Watson this series.

We would barely have even got a wicket if it was not for Watson's bowling. Heck he is the only one that has moved the ball in the Australian side, not to mention he is averaging 45 odd with the bat, and unlike Hussey has not dropped an absolute sitter when we could have had the poms at 2 for 20!

Has disappointed as opener, only averaging 42 with the bat this year. Doesn't seem to be able to go on with a big score. His scores this year suggest he is more suited to bat at 5 or 6.

But he has become Australia's most reliable and best bowler, yet his bowling is underutilized because he opens.

This would be a much better side if Watson batted down the order.

Disappointed, say what. Our best opener this year and by a fair margin. You bag Watson for not going on- Katich is almost as bad. When Ponting retires Watson will shift down to 3, but until then he opens. You want Watson facing the new ball, that is where he is at his most dangerous. Sure it gets him out, but he gets runs quickly.

I disagree, Watson always looks really uncomfortable against the new ball. I think he's been very disappointing so far in the Ashes, which is probably harsh when you consider he's still been one of our best.

But to have only 2 test centuries and something like 15 half centuries... it's not a good enough conversion rate.

He averages 15 at no6...he averages 45 up the top. You will not move him down the order to face spinners, he just is not that good at facing spin. Watson needs the ball coming on, especially early. Look at last test for example, sure poor shot to get out..but Australia were 3 for nothing and Watson withstood the onslaught and played well. Did not look in trouble.
