The whining about the situation is so contradictory. Could you imagine if they tried some other method of extraction and the kid got killed? People would be crying blue murder for the zoo not shooting the gorilla.

The liability is on the mother and the zoo for not having adequate fencing. The gorilla was an unfortunate collateral but given it got to that point, needed to be shot.
