There are two types of people in this world... Those with an incredibly inflated opinion of themselves and those with an incredibly deflated opinion of themselves.

Rarely do either of them actually come close to hitting the mark as to their actual worth as human beings.

Think about that one...

You can find perfect examples of that analagy right here in the FFB.

BM has a huge opinion of himself but is ultimately a piece of trash that lies and thinks nothing of impersonating people that actually contribute to society and endanger themself whilst doing it.

Then we have Dani who has a very low opinion of herself but is nothing short of a beautiful person. People wouldn't know this but Dani sends me messages on facebook if I am quiet for a little while to check on me after my heart attack, just having that friendship from a person i haven't met shows me how truly wonderful a person that Dani is.

Which one are you then?

I have an over inflated opinion of my own self worth tbh.

I'm always fairly confident that given the appropriate training I will eventually be the best at everything I try my hand at.

If I fail at something, in my eyes, it's generally because I haven't applied the appropriate amount of effort, not because I'm just plain no good at it.

Most usually it's -

women = low opinion of themselves
men = high opinion of themselves

Of course, there are some from each sex who go the other way but how often do you come across someone in general and think "wow, that person has exactly the right opinion of themselves"?

Of course, the real kicker is that opinion is subjective and what you may think of another person may be the complete opposite of what someone else thinks of them as well.

Sooner or later, someone, somewhere is right though.

Interesting.

When I was younger, I thought the sun shone out of my own arse. I was 10 foot tall and bulletproof.

Then I had an illness which sent me blind for a bit. I'm still blind in one eye, but some of my vision has recovered.

Anyway, that sort of shit will change your perspective. Things that were important... Aren't so important anymore and when you have ongoing eye dominance issues that affect things like depth perception and even your ability to catch a ball, it kind of forces you to admit your fallibility.

Never come across that before, though I've come across other schemes that try and classify people into nice, neat little boxes. My general view is that people are not that simple, and the deeper you delve, the less any such scheme will actually prove to be useful or accurate.

This. I have a heap of friends who are psych majors and think this sort of shit is the be all and end all. I wish people were that simple, but they aren't.

Tbf, I've come to the conclusion that I'm God's gift based on the evidence, not any in-built attitude :sarcasm:

On a positive note at least you're now a chance of being signed up by Parramatta

Yah she's pretty cool chick. My dad rocked up on my doorstep on the weekend, which is not something I like happening and when I mentioned it on FB she was like "everything ok?" And when I inevitably melt down and vent out on there because I'm garbage at talking about my mental issues shes always up for a talk...so yeah, pretty nice girl...

I just remembered you didn't exactly get along with your parents.

I ask cos I care. I don't really have friends. Lots of love to give but no one wants it.

Meh.
