Depends on the foundation you derive your morals from, really.

Most of the conjecture in the world is due to different peoples foundations clashing in the moral realm. The result is human history.

So I suppose everyone decides what foundation they adhere to; whether the foundations are right or not has been debated since Noah was a boy.
