It isn't that slater is better than Inglis, it's that Slater is better than Tate. Inglis is also multi talented, and can play center and even 5/8 at a pinch, Slater is a specialist and can't do anything else.

As for cherry Evans, he is there for impact. The forwards of new Zealand will do what they always do, destroy our halves on defense. Cronk and Thurston will get bashed around, and he'll come on and spark. He could play the whole lot and drop Cronk, but that would put Farrah in the team, and no one wants that.

Just chuck them all at fullback and let them roam in attack, but get back into their corridor in defense. Would be an interesting experiment, I reckon they're all good enough to make it work.

Because let's face it, we only care about Inglis' attack, he doesn't hold a candle to Slaters defense.
