Apparently my family was allowed to be burried in some Maori church grounds in Pukekohe. My ancestors helped them in a battle 100 odd years ago.

My uncle looked up our family history on dad's side.

Ancestors emigrated from Kvam, Norway to Perth in the 1850's.

Also have Irish on that side of the family.

Great grandfather fought in France in WW1 and his brother fought at Gallipoli.

Mums side is a lot harder. All I know is both her parents were 1/2 koori 1/2 Anglo Saxon.

She was fostered out when she was 3 (one of 16 children)

Our surname was changed when they go to Australia. It used to be Torensen.

They even went to the general Swedish spelling (son for Sweden, Sen for Norway)

Glad the Irish side were female though. Couldn't handle having a generic name of Davies.
