Golden rule Drew. No more that 3 baby pics to FB per day. Don't become one of those parents

No, I've vowed to only do a few then back to radio silence. My post yesterday was the first I'd made in nearly 18 months.

You are one of us now Drew. Being a dad is the most exciting, frustrating, terrifying, funny and ultimately rewarding thing I have ever done, and I have done some stuff in my life.

The terrifying part is true. I barely sleep because I'm shit scared she spew and choke :(

The first time she sleeps straight through the night will replace the time you lost your v-plates as your "that was the best thing ever!" moment :)

Hahaha, I look forward to that!

Just got back yesterday.

Firstly Jetlag is a myth, either that, or everyone else is just soft lol

Went to Huddersfield only to find the George Hotel is not operating, apparently its had a new owner who intends to fix the place up which was badly needed.

This also meant the museum (aka as "Stevo's Stuff" to the locals) couldn't be viewed, mostly because no one knows where it is. It was in the George Hotel, but was planned to be moved elsewhere while the hotel was refurbished. One suggested location was John Smith Stadium, another was a University and another was a museum. None of them knew about it when I contacted them though.

Other than that, spent the rest of the trip meeting the in laws, who sadly are all better relo's then those on my side of the family lol and some cliched tourist stuff. Great trip, will be going back next year for some cousins wedding over there so I'm told.

worst of all, we had to leave prior to the World Cup kick off and were in transit when the first two games started. Given the timing of the games, I was looking forward to a week of jetlag, but noooo, I had to slip into a normal routine immediately.

My sister was on work cover. She was a prison guard and was attacked by a prisoner while clearing a cell one day. Stuffed her back pretty badly. She now gets pins and needles down one side all the time and suffers significant pain after extended stints of doing anything. Even sitting for a long period of time screws her up. Work cover helped her to land a job in the call centre for 000 and the police assistance line. She would work 4 hour shifts which are about as long as she can handle and then work cover would bump up her pay as though she was working 8 hour shifts.

She mentioned the other week that the new Liberal Government have put a stop to this now and she has been made to either take a pay cut or go up to full shifts. Something about a change of work cover policy.

Pretty unfair if you ask me as she wants to work but just can't handle a full day because of an injury obtained in the line of her daily duties.

She could have just refused to work and sued for compensation but she took the fairer route. Now it's come back to bite her on the arse.

I'm guessing what Dani is going through has something to do with this policy change as well?

Sounds to me like someone above her is making excuses for her work being merkins. There has been no such policy change that I'm aware of as a Workcover trained manager and even if there was staff would still be covered until their existing EBAs ran out

your sister can still sue.

I think she will.

I think her EBA ran out as well.

Next time I speak to her I will find out the full story.

Skilled jobs are overrated. Unskilled are much easier to get. They'll take any non criminal off the street.

Chick I used to work with, and once fired, has posted this on FB...

"f**k u work why on my baby girls bday do u need me there why why why"

Normally, whatever, we all have a bit of a rant, not that funny. Until she tagged her boss
