hey all you FFB homos*
thought i'd share this cause here, particularly after the music discussion the other day highlighted we have music fans amongst us..
down here in melbourne we have a great venue - a 102 year old theatre in the middle of the city that's used for concerts, nightclub nights, basically musical events of all kinds.. (and for those that have seen the 'macbeth' movie staring sam worthington, it was used in that film too..)
so anyway, it's about to be demolished and turned into apartments..
shame that such a historic and culturally significant building is facing this future..
anyway, there is a group trying to save it (i'm not in this group, btw, just believe in their cause) so thought if anyone is a fan of live music and wants to join in support, either through facebook likes (FB likes are stronger than bullets, apparently??) or sign the petition, feel free to go to either of these links:

i've lodged a formal objection against the planning permit to the council to try and have the development stopped, have friends doing the same.. but obviously if there are as many names on as many petitions and lists as possible, hopefully it sinks to the powers that be..
those who have ever been to the palace (used to be the metro) will know it... great place.. don't want to see it go
