Two of my best mates have moved this year, one up to sydney one down to nowra. Have really missed how it was last year, when we'd basically all finished uni/were free to do stuff all the time. Get on very well with both thei girlfriends also, was very relaxed company.

We're all playing in the same soccer team this year which is really good, means we still get to hang out a bit. Yesterday was good, one mates girlfriend and brother were both down, the others sister also came down, could hang out after soccer, went and got a meal, all those good things. Just good being in a group where the banter is good, company's relaxed.

Makes me a bit sad the next day though when everyone's a decent distance away again :(

But my initial points, BF, were twofold:

(1) saying "Mexican Spanish" is unnecessary. The differences in the Mexican dialects and other Spanish are minuscule.

(2) not one Spanish-speaking person would pronounce it the way we do; the "x" in Spanish is an extension of the "j", which is ALMOST pronounced like an English "h".

Shits me to tears hearing gringos pronounce Jorge as "Horr-hey".
Mate, you said it's not Mexican Spanish. Just like here, we speak English (yes), BUT saying it's not Australian English is... well I'll let you figure that out. Just like the US speak American English.

End of the day, pronunciation DOES come into it.

Prime Example:

DATA

Australian English: Dar-tar
American English: Day-tar

Off to host another party bus.

If there's anything I'm really going to miss about China, it's going to be my role organising these fortnightly pub crawls.

It's stressful on the day, but I never fail to make new friends and even manage to pick up from time to time.

I daresay I've only got one more before I leave :(

July 18/19/20 ;)

Ok look. Your stupidity is hurting my frontal lobe, so I'll help you out here.

BF-In Mexican Spanish, Mexico is pronounced whatever wrong thing I said
Eele-Not just Mexican Spanish, all Spanish. Also it's Me-hee-co, not whatever ridiculous bullshit you said that was completely wrong.
BF-I don't understand that thing you said so I'm forced to presume that you're arguing with me because I'm completely oblivious to how stupid I actually am and incorrectly assume that I have an intellect greater than an autistic dung beetle. Here's a meaningless link with no actual relevance to the discussion. I am so smart, SMRT....
Eele-What? That doesn't mean anything. Mexican Spanish is a stupid thing to say when it's not actually a different language and anyway that's not the point, you said whatever stupid pronunciation you said and that is wrong. I speak Spanish and lived in South America and you are a window washer who probably thinks pizza is Spanish.
BF-Lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala I;ve completely missed your point and will continue to argue something that has no relevance while I lick windows and play with myself over pictures of a small furry animal.
Eele-.......are you for real? I can't even....
BF-BF ARE RIGHT! BF ARE SO SMART! BF ARE PROVING YOU WRONG ABOUT THAT THING I SAID EVEN THOUGH BF COMPLETELY DOESN'T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING THAT HAPPENED HERE! BF IS GOING TO GO JACK OFF IN TO A MAYONNAISE BOTTLE TO CELEBRATE!!
Eele-The....f**k?

"tea" is the single worst bit of the english language ever. Instead of calling it dinner people call it tea. DO YOU PEOPLE REALISE THAT IS THE SAME NAME AS SOMETHING ELSE THAT IS CONSUMED. It's like going out of your way to confuse people learning the language.

Dinner is dinner. Tea is the weak version of coffee. End of story.

I was raised to call the 3 meals breakfast, dinner, and tea. Does this rustle your jimmies BM?
