There's different dialects even within Spain itself. BF is an idiot. Dialects don't mean whole new languages.

Don't have to tell me - I lived in Spain, Chile and Mexico. Well aware of all this.

But my initial points, BF, were twofold:

(1) saying "Mexican Spanish" is unnecessary. The differences in the Mexican dialects and other Spanish are minuscule.

(2) not one Spanish-speaking person would pronounce it the way we do; the "x" in Spanish is an extension of the "j", which is ALMOST pronounced like an English "h".

Shits me to tears hearing gringos pronounce Jorge as "Horr-hey".
