It's a machine they place in you like a pacemaker. It sends electrical impulses to your stomach that makes it contract when you eat so you think you're full.

Supposed to be crazy awesome for diabetics. And fatmerkins. I win twice...

It charges wirelessly. Apparently you just have to stand near the charger for a while. And lasts 15 years before needing to be removed/replaced. And it's only day surgery.

Fingers crossed.

I'm on hold waiting for an appointment with the surgeons now.

How does something charge wirelessly? That is seriously freaky.

kinetic energy..

the machine has a magnet, and there is another magnet that needs to be bolted to a wall..

dani needs to run around in circles past this magnet 45 times each day, and it converts the magnetic field into energy for the batteries in the device..

Hadn't thought about that till you said something. Boo :(

You misunderstand my 'freaky' comment - its the fact that the technology is so advanced it can charge wirelessly. I think what you're getting is wonderful and will make a difference for your health which is a massively positive thing :D

The technology is scary advanced though.

You're we wealth of information mate :)

Even more freaky would be plugging yourself into a socket every few hours.

I'm worried about what hole it would need to plug the cord into :sarcasm:

Freaky or not. I hope I get it. My goal of 70kg should be no problems from what I've read about it.
